What is available now, and what is still upcoming?
The playable product today is the free Windows demo. Steam records the demo release as April 18, 2026, while the developer’s current schedule places the full release on November 13, 2026. Those are separate listings, so make sure you are reading the demo page rather than assuming every full-game feature is already present. Check the demo listing and the full-game listing again before publication because storefront dates and metadata can change.
Graphics menus can also change between the demo and release build. The developer’s September 18 update says that performance, saving and stability were improved and that graphics detection and wallpaper reliability were better. It does not publish a universal frame rate, a before-and-after benchmark, or a definitive list of slider names and ranges. Treat the controls visible in your installation as authoritative.

What hardware does Drawquarium require?
The current Steam requirements list the same baseline for minimum and recommended configurations. They are developer-published compatibility targets, not a promise of a particular FPS, resolution or quality level.

If you are checking a desktop upgrade, the listing’s named example is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card. Verify your existing GPU first, then check case clearance, power-supply connectors and capacity, driver support, and current alternatives. Buying that older model or any upgrade is not a guaranteed cure for a pixelated or choppy wallpaper; the reported wallpaper symptom has no established single cause.
How should I set the graphics options on the first run?
Use automatic detection as your starting point, establish how normal play feels, and make only one change before comparing again. This preserves a usable baseline and prevents you from guessing which setting helped.
- Install the current demo from Steam. Confirm that Windows meets the listed operating-system, CPU, memory, GPU, DirectX and storage requirements.

Which visual choices improve comfort without unsupported promises?

The developer describes customizable lighting and caustics, plus glowing fish and plants. If those controls appear in your build, compare a subdued arrangement with the default ambience when bright or moving highlights are uncomfortable. The available evidence does not establish that disabling any particular effect increases FPS, so use these controls for visual comfort rather than as a guaranteed performance fix.
Disco Mode
Disco Mode is described as adding lasers, spotlights and music. It is an optional decorative mode, not a documented performance preset. For a calmer aquarium, leave it off and compare ordinary ambience; for troubleshooting, reproduce the problem with the mode both off and on so you know whether the symptom is tied to the effect or to the wider scene.

Do not assume that every common PC option exists in Drawquarium. The exact current names, ranges, V-sync behavior, frame cap and resolution controls were not verified. If your demo exposes them, change one at a time and record the result on your hardware instead of importing instructions from another game.
How do I troubleshoot a choppy or pixelated wallpaper?
Wallpaper mode places the aquarium on the Windows desktop, so evaluate it as a separate workload. One Steam Community report describes wallpaper playback as pixelated, with a drastic frame-rate drop and slow, choppy movement on an older computer, even though normal play looked fine. - Confirm the comparison. Run the same scene in normal foreground play, then switch to wallpaper mode. Write down which mode fails and whether the problem appears immediately or after the desktop has been active.
- Record the environment. Note Windows version, display resolution, GPU model, whether the machine has integrated and discrete graphics, and whether the issue affects one monitor or all monitors.
- Return to automatic detection. If you changed several options, restore the automatic choice and retest. The developer says wallpaper reliability was improved, but does not identify a universal setting that fixes every system.
- Compare one visual change. If lighting, caustics, glowing elements or Disco Mode are available, test one change at a time. Do not claim that a particular effect is the cause unless the same comparison consistently shows it on your machine.
- Check foreground play again. If only wallpaper mode remains poor, preserve that distinction when seeking help. It gives the developer more useful information than reporting that the entire game is slow.

A cached Steam accessibility listing identifies Mouse Only Option, along with Camera Comfort, Stereo Sound and Playable without Quick Time Events. Those are store accessibility categories, not confirmed names of adjustable switches in the current live build; the live store view did not display that section.
Do not assume controller, keyboard-only, stylus, drawing-tablet or screen-reader support without current documentation. An ergonomic computer mouse can make drawing more comfortable, but it has no connection to FPS. If you use a specialized input device, test it in the demo and keep a standard mouse available for setup and troubleshooting.

Not solely for that reason. The GTX 1060 6 GB appears in the developer’s listed graphics requirement, but wallpaper problems can be mode-specific and no upgrade is guaranteed to resolve them; verify your current hardware and test the demo first.
