For an online Castor Woods map in Dying Light: The Beast, start with the community map linked from the Steam Community guide, which points players to MapGenie’s collectibles map. Techland’s Pilgrim Outpost is the official route to community-created maps, but it does not certify any particular map as complete or up to date. The Castor Woods Tourist Map sold as Steam or Xbox downloadable content is a separate game add-on, not the same thing as a web-based interactive guide.
Where to find a Castor Woods map
Techland’s Pilgrim Outpost
Techland describes Castor Woods as the game’s setting and presents Pilgrim Outpost as a community hub that includes maps made by players and a place to suggest game ideas. It is the official starting point for finding community resources, not an endorsement that a specific third-party map is complete or current. Visit Techland’s official site.
Community web maps
A Steam Community guide advertises a full Castor Woods map in image and interactive formats and directs players to MapGenie’s collectibles map. These are community resources, not official Techland map products. The available guide information does not establish whether either resource currently covers every location, tracks found items, requires an account, or is maintained for the latest game version. Check the map itself for its controls and update information before relying on it for a completion run. See the Steam Community map guide.
Castor Woods Tourist Map add-on
Steam lists Dying Light: The Beast – Castor Woods Tourist Map as downloadable content, requires the base game, and describes the content as including interactive elements. Xbox also lists a Castor Woods Tourist Map add-on. These store listings establish a game add-on, not a browser-based interactive collectibles map, and the cited Xbox listing does not establish that the two platform versions have identical features. Check the listing for your platform: Steam or Xbox.

Choosing a map for your goal
| Resource | What it is | What the evidence establishes | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Techland’s Pilgrim Outpost | Official community hub | Includes maps created by the community | Whether a particular map is current and covers the locations you need |
| Steam Community guide and linked MapGenie map | Community web guide; image and interactive map formats are advertised | The guide points to a collectibles map and has tags spanning topics such as loot, secrets, maps, and walkthroughs | Marker coverage, update status, and whether it saves your progress |
| Castor Woods Tourist Map | Downloadable game add-on listed on Steam and Xbox | Steam says the base game is required and the content includes interactive elements | Platform-specific listing details; the listings do not establish web-map functionality or cross-platform feature parity |
For finding collectibles online, the community guide’s link to MapGenie is the most directly relevant route in the available listings. For an official channel to discover player-made resources, use Pilgrim Outpost. If you mean the Tourist Map add-on, use the store for your platform and read its product description rather than assuming it provides the same functions as a web guide.

If you are hunting Newspapers, open the community collectibles map and look for a Newspapers category or marker. The available source information does not establish the map’s exact category labels or whether every Newspaper is marked, so confirm its coverage in the map interface. One player phrased the completionist question as “Where are the Castor Woods Newspapers?”; that is a useful example of the search, not evidence of how common it is.

A Game Guides Channel video guide published September 22, 2025 reports these collectible totals:
| Category | Count reported by the guide |
|---|---|
| Castor Woods Newspapers | 8 |
| Castor Woods Beavers | 11 |
| Sigils | 8 |
| Dr. Paulaner Diaries | 3 |
| Fisher Family Documents | 2 |
| Asylum Patient Records | 6 |
| Castor Woods Recipes | 9 |
| Baron’s Research Memos | 9 |
| Hidden Truths with Spark | 8 |
| Dr. Tal Cubero Recordings | 5 |
| Olivia’s Recordings | 4 |
| Murals | 27 |
These are the video guide creator’s reported counts, not a separately verified official inventory. Treat them as a checklist to compare against your game, not definitive proof that a particular map or current version contains exactly those totals. The guide is available as Game Guides Channel’s collectible guide.

What to verify before using a map for 100%
- Marker categories: Look for the exact item or activity you are pursuing. A guide’s broad tags or description do not prove every category has complete markers.
- Interactivity: Confirm whether the map is a clickable web map or a static image; the Steam guide advertises both formats.
- Progress tracking: Do not assume found markers can be saved or synced. Check the map’s own controls and account requirements.
- Maintenance: Look for an update date or version note on the resource. The cited listings do not establish an update schedule.
- Side content: For side quests, activities, secrets, or other missable locations, inspect the category list rather than assuming a collectibles-focused map covers them.
