It was the APEX Car Skin, which Techland described as having a glow-in-the-dark design. In its September 16, 2025, Dying Light Outpost announcement, “An Exclusive Thank You Gift”, Techland said the reward was for everyone who already had the game and anyone who joined before launch.
Techland framed the gift as recognition of a milestone: the publisher said more than one million players had secured a copy. That is Techland’s reported figure; the announcement provides no sales methodology or independent audit.
When and how was the APEX skin supposed to be claimed?
Techland said the APEX Car Skin would be claimable on Dying Light Outpost starting September 20, 2025. The announcement does not provide platform-specific redemption steps or confirm current availability, so it cannot establish whether a player can still claim it.

What other bonuses did Techland announce?
Hero of Harran Bundle
Techland’s September 16, 2025 press announcement hosted by Games Press described the Hero of Harran Bundle as available at launch. It presented the APEX Car Skin as an additional thank-you gift.
Kyle Crane Legacy Outfit
Techland also announced the Kyle Crane Legacy Outfit as an exclusive bonus for players who joined before release, saying it would unlock shortly after launch. The official Outpost post, “Kyle Crane Legacy skin”, describes the outfit as inspired by Kyle Crane’s iconic look from the original Dying Light.

What was the release timing?
At the time of the announcement, Techland listed September 18, 2025, as the release date for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The APEX claim start followed on September 20, 2025. Both dates are historical, not upcoming deadlines.
