Where to find FC 25 controller settings

Use the options actually shown in your game rather than assuming every platform or configuration presents an identical menu. Which individual controller settings should you change?
Timed Finishing
Consider turning Timed Finishing on if you can reliably perform its additional timing input. It adds an execution demand, so if you frequently miss the timing or prefer a simpler shot input, turning it off may fit you better. A recommendation to enable it is not a guarantee of better results.
Through Pass Assistance
Semi is a middle ground for players who want some assistance while retaining more influence over pass direction than a fully assisted option provides. Choose the level that matches how much targeting control you want, and check the available choices in Gameplay Settings.

Analog Sprint
Some competitive-oriented recommendations favor Analog Sprint Off, treating sprint activation as less dependent on how far the trigger is pressed. This is a preference, not an objectively superior setting; keep it on if its behavior feels more natural to you.
Player switching
Auto-switching and right-stick switching affect how you move control between teammates. Choose a consistent combination, then practice it until switching is predictable. The available guidance does not establish one universal best value for every player or situation.

Keep tactical D-pad commands separate from controller assistance
The directional buttons also provide access to FC IQ tactical options: My Tactics, Tactical Focus, and Quick Tactics. These are in-match tactical commands, not controller-assistance settings. EA describes using them to change tactics during a match in its FC IQ Deep Dive, published August 21, 2024.
Recheck settings after gameplay updates
Recommendations may need revisiting as the game changes. EA’s January 15, 2025 Gameplay Refresh Update updated core systems including passing, shooting, goalkeeping, and defending. That update is a reason to check the current build and retest settings, not proof that any specific controller value became best.

Does the FC Pro controller rule apply to everyone?
No. EA’s licensed PlayStation controller requirement is for EA FC Pro live events under the official FC Pro rules. It is an event rule, not a general consumer requirement for playing FC 25.
