If EA Sports FC 25 keeps crashing on your PS5, start with game and system updates, then restart the console and test with USB devices unplugged. If that does not help, power-cycle the PS5 and reinstall the game. - Fully power-cycle the console. If a restart does not help, turn the PS5 off using its power button, wait one minute, and turn it back on. This is not a factory reset.
- Reinstall FC 25. Delete the game and install it again. Reinstalling the game is different from resetting the console; do not choose a console reset as a substitute.
- If FC 25 is on external storage, test the internal drive. Move or reinstall the game on the PS5’s internal storage and test again. This checks whether the installation location is relevant; it is not a reason by itself to buy a new drive.
FC 25 crashes when I open Ultimate Team—or shows CE-108255-1
Note exactly when the crash occurs: at launch, when opening Ultimate Team, after a match, or at another point. Record the displayed error code, whether other PS5 games work, and the steps you have tried. The EA forum reports of Ultimate Team crashes and CE-108255-1 are anecdotes, not a confirmed diagnosis, so do not assume that the mode or code points to one specific cause.
If the problem continues and FC 25 is the only affected game, PlayStation’s guidance is to contact the game’s publisher. Use the EA SPORTS FC 25 support hub and include your symptoms, error code, and troubleshooting history.

When should I try PS5 Safe Mode?
Safe Mode offers options including Clear Cache and Rebuild Database. PlayStation describes clearing the cache as a possible step for system feature issues or performance drops; rebuilding the database scans the drive and recreates its content index. These are console troubleshooting options, not confirmed FC 25-specific fixes.
Follow PlayStation’s instructions for using Safe Mode on PS5 and read each option before selecting it. Some Safe Mode options erase data. Back up important data before choosing a reset or reinstalling the system software.

What if several PS5 games crash?
If crashes affect multiple games, the issue may not be limited to FC 25. Follow PlayStation’s console troubleshooting guidance and contact PlayStation Support if the problem persists. If FC 25 alone crashes, follow the publisher-support path instead. Neither pattern proves a particular hardware fault, so these symptoms alone are not a basis for buying a replacement console, cable, drive, or cleaning product.
