To perform a skill move in EA SPORTS FC 25, use a player whose Skill Moves rating meets the move’s star requirement, then enter the listed right-stick sequence and any required modifier. The exact input can depend on platform and controller configuration, so check the game’s Skill Moves Help for the active setup. Below are the four moves EA specifically added for FC 25, plus the key input changes.
Who can perform each skill move?
A player’s Skill Moves star rating determines which tiers they can use: a one-star player is limited to one-star moves, while a five-star player can perform moves from all five tiers, according to GamesRadar’s FC 25 guide. Check the active player’s attributes or card before attempting a higher-rated move. A move’s star requirement is an eligibility threshold, not a guarantee that an input will work identically in every control configuration.

New skill moves in FC 25
EA’s July 25, 2024 gameplay notes document four additions. These inputs are listed for PlayStation and Xbox by EA; “flick” means a quick directional input on the right stick. For moves marked cancellable, EA says the action can be cancelled.

What changed to existing moves?
- Drag Back Spin (4-star): EA changed the input to hold L2/LT and move the right stick forward, then left or right. The previous sequence began with the right stick back.
- Drag Turn (4-star): EA says its animation was updated.
- 180-degree Flair Nutmeg: EA added an animation performed by holding L1+R1 on PlayStation or LB+RB on Xbox and choosing a direction with the right stick.
- Orbit Dribble: EA removed the move and its L1+L2 / LB+LT plus left-stick-direction command.
- Trickster Fake Shots: From a stand or jog, EA lists Square/Circle + X plus a left-stick direction on PlayStation, or X/B + A plus a left-stick direction on Xbox.
These changes are described in EA’s FC 25 Gameplay Deep Dive, dated July 25, 2024. EA’s official notes summarize the update as: “New Skill Moves have been added along with some changes to existing ones.”
How to find the complete controls for your setup
EA Help says controls can vary by platform and configuration. The in-game help is the best reference if a listed input differs from your layout or fails to trigger.

How to approach a long move list
Push Square’s September 20, 2024 PS4/PS5 guide counts 80 moves across five star categories. That figure is the guide’s count, not a number EA publishes in the cited gameplay notes. GamesRadar also presents tiered PlayStation and Xbox tables. Because a complete platform-specific input list is not reproduced here, use those guides or, preferably, the in-game help rather than treating a few examples as the full catalogue.

If you are choosing what to learn first, start with moves eligible for your player and pay attention to whether they require a modifier, a directional sequence, or a particular state such as standing or jogging. That is a practical way to narrow practice; the cited material does not establish comparative success rates or prove that any move is more effective than another.

GamesRadar’s guide includes examples such as Flick Up (R3) and Ball Roll (hold the right stick to a side) in its lower-star tiers, and Heel Flick (right stick up, then down) and Roulette (rotate the right stick from the bottom toward the relevant side) among its three-star examples.
