Echoes of Time was the first Week 2 quest in The Sims 4’s Blast from the Past event. The event ended on April 1, 2025, and it is not currently live. The steps below document how the quest worked during the event; available information does not confirm whether players can start it now or replay it after missing it.
How Echoes of Time fit into the event
During the 2025 Blast from the Past event, players reached Echoes of Time after completing A Strange Visitor and Missing Clues. Completing it led directly to the next quest, Inventing the Past. EA’s event announcement said the event would run for six weeks, with two quests each week. It also said no new quests would be added after March 4, 2025, and rewards had to be claimed by April 1, 2025. Those dates describe the original event, not a current schedule.

The original quest had seven objectives and awarded 50 event points in total, according to KeenGamer’s walkthrough. The steps below follow the documented 2025 quest sequence.
Echoes of Time walkthrough
1. Read “History of Time Travel” at a library
- Travel to a library and select a bookcase.
- Choose Read “History of Time Travel”.
- Let the interaction finish, then check that the objective registers.
Willow Creek Archive in Willow Creek is a named example. Other qualifying library lots may also work, according to the walkthroughs from KeenGamer and Sims Community.

- Customize your Sims’ looks and their home with new family fashion and build items. Give the kids’ bedrooms extra personality, remodel the kitchen to feel homier, and let your Sims express their sporty or artistic sides with new outfits.
2. Study a historical display at a museum
- Travel to a museum and select a painting or sculpture.
- Choose View and let your Sim complete the interaction.
Municipal Muses in Willow Creek is one example of a qualifying museum. The guides report that an Emit icon appears beside the relevant interaction.
3. Play The Sims Archives, vol. 2
- Use a computer.
- Choose Play Game, then The Sims Archives, vol. 2.
- Wait for your Sim to finish playing.
4. Ask an Elder about the Shard
Find a Sim in the Elder life stage and choose Ask About Shard. The guides say you can hover over a Sim to check their age. If you already know an Elder, inviting them over may be convenient if the timing allows.

5. Research Shards of Time
- Use a computer and choose Web.
- Select Research, then Research Shards of Time.
- Allow the interaction to finish.
6. Search objects for three Shards of Time
Select eligible objects around the lot and choose Search for Shard of Time. The walkthroughs list refrigerators, bookcases, computers, sofas, and toilets as possible search targets. A search can turn up nothing, so keep trying other objects until you have three shards. The guides suggest trying a library if household objects are not producing results.

Find Emit Relevart and choose Show Shards of Time. The guides name Magnolia Blossom Park in Willow Creek as a place he may appear. Sims Community also reports that you can invite him using the phone’s Social category.

The two walkthroughs report these individual objective values for the 2025 event. Together, they total 175 points; this is the objective-point sum reported by the guides, not the 50-point quest total KeenGamer separately gives for Echoes of Time.

Can you still start or replay the quest?
The original event is over. EA’s English-language announcement sets April 1, 2025, as the end date and says event rewards had to be claimed by then. The available sources document the original quest steps, but do not establish whether a later update, a player’s existing save or event state, or a future rerun can make the quest available again. Treat this walkthrough as useful for a save or event state that still presents the objectives, not as confirmation that the quest can be triggered in 2026.
