Egypt’s Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) announced on February 4, 2026, that a block on Roblox would be implemented in the country that day, in coordination with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. The available reporting does not establish whether the block is still in effect or whether Egypt was the latest country to impose a full nationwide block as of October 8, 2026.
What Egypt announced
In a notice published February 4, 2026, the SCMR said it had decided, in coordination with Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, to implement a Roblox block starting that day. The SCMR notice confirms the decision and implementation date; it does not establish the block’s later status.
Ahram Online reported that the move followed a Senate proposal and debate over children’s exposure to unsuitable content, contact with strangers, and possible psychological or behavioural effects. Those concerns were reported as the rationale for the action; they are not findings established by the announcement itself.
Is Egypt the latest country to ban Roblox?
That cannot be confirmed from the available dated reporting. The February coverage records Egypt’s announcement and describes restrictions in other countries, but it is not a complete, current inventory of nationwide blocks. It does not establish whether another country imposed a full block after Egypt, nor whether Egypt’s measure remained active on October 8, 2026.

So the precise answer is: Egypt announced a Roblox block effective February 4, 2026, but the evidence does not prove that it was the world’s latest full nationwide block by October 8, 2026.
Why “ban” can mean different things
Roblox is a platform for creating and playing user-made games and experiences, rather than a single game with one fixed set of content. Ahram Online’s description of the platform helps explain why debates about content and communication arise around it.

A nationwide block of the platform is not the same as restricting selected features or categories. Roblox Support says, “We occasionally receive requests from governments and regulators that may result in specific Roblox features, content, or categories of content being restricted in that region.” Its regional restrictions information distinguishes restrictions involving monetization and trading, communication, and content.
The February 2026 comparison in Ahram Online described nationwide bans in Iraq and Algeria, a block in China under broader internet censorship, a temporary ban in Turkey pending local-content compliance, and feature restrictions in some Gulf countries. These are descriptions from a dated report, not confirmation of each country’s status in October 2026 or a definitive ranking of the latest full block.

What the dates establish
- February 1, 2026: Ahram Online reported an intended block and described the Senate context and stated child-safety concerns.
- February 4, 2026: The SCMR announced that implementation would begin that day; Ahram Online also reported the implementation date.
- October 8, 2026: The February notice and reporting do not confirm whether the block remained active or establish a later worldwide ranking.
Without a newer official update on Egyptian access and reliable, dated reporting on later nationwide blocks elsewhere, “Egypt is the latest country” goes beyond what these sources establish.
