When to look for Frida, Galdorf, and Falward
The chapter guide groups all three characters under Hoist the Alliance Banner. Their recruitment steps are different: Frida asks for a conversation, Galdorf needs a specific piece of armor, and Falward requires a set number of herbs.
How to recruit each character
Frida: speak to her in Werne Village
Find Frida at her stall in the southwest of Werne Village and speak with her. The recruitment guide lists no additional item or quest requirement. Once recruited, she enables the headquarters Armor Shop, which sells head and body equipment as you upgrade the facility.
Galdorf: bring Palenight Mail to the Abandoned Mine
Find Galdorf at the entrance to the Abandoned Mine and speak to him while you have the Palenight Mail. The armor is beside Ormond’s spot in the mine. The chapter guide notes that you cannot equip it at the time you recruit Galdorf.
Falward: hand over 15 Healing Herbs
Go to the meeting hall in Altverden Village and give Falward 15 Healing Herbs to recruit him.

- Our story begins in one corner of Allraan, a tapestry of nations with diverse cultures and values. By dint of sword, and by way of magical objects known as “rune-lenses,” the land’s history has been shaped by the alliances and aggressions of the humans, beastmen, elves, and desert people who live there.
- Now, the Empire is scouring the continent for an artifact that will expand their power even further. It is on one such expedition that Seign Kesling, a young and gifted imperial officer, and Nowa, a boy from a remote village, meet each other and become friends.
