El anuncio confirma que se está rehaciendo la trilogía, pero no especifica si las tres entregas se publicarán juntas ni describe el alcance de los cambios. No. God of War Sons of Sparta es un juego separado: una aventura canónica de acción y plataformas en 2D sobre la juventud de Kratos, desarrollada con Mega Cat Studios y anunciada junto al remake. La nota oficial distingue claramente ambos proyectos. PlayStation Blog en español.
¿Qué se puede jugar mientras tanto?
La trilogía original y el proyecto nuevo no deben confundirse con una remasterización ya disponible. PlayStation incluye God of War III Remastered para PS4 en el catálogo oficial de la saga; es una versión remasterizada del juego de 2010, no el remake anunciado. La página de la franquicia también identifica las plataformas originales de los títulos clásicos. La disponibilidad de una copia o versión puede variar según tienda y región.

Qué significa el anuncio para la saga
La trilogía griega es el núcleo de la etapa inicial de Kratos, y PlayStation ha confirmado que el proyecto abarca sus tres entregas principales, no solo una. Como contexto histórico —no como cifra de ventas de esta trilogía ni como dato actual— Sony Computer Entertainment informó de 21.650.595 unidades acumuladas de ventas sell-in de toda la franquicia al 30 de mayo de 2012; el comunicado describió ese hito como más de 21 millones en los siete años desde el debut de la saga en 2005.
