There are eight Memory Stones in Elden Ring, and each one adds a memory slot for spells. Find all eight to raise the ordinary starting total of two slots to ten, according to the Elden Ring Wiki checklist. The routes include a merchant purchase, tower puzzles, a traversal challenge, and boss rewards.
What Memory Stones do
Memory slots hold magic you have learned. Bandai Namco’s official starter guide describes the function this way: “Memorize Spell: Equip magic you have learned in the memory slots to use it in the game.” The eight stones increase the reported starting count of two slots to ten. The Moon of Nokstella talisman adds two more while equipped, for a reported total of twelve; these counts are listed by the Elden Ring Wiki checklist.

Weeping Peninsula: solve Oridys’s Rise
Tower puzzle — Oridys’s Rise
Find Oridys’s Rise in the Weeping Peninsula. Complete the tower’s three tortoise, or “wise beast,” puzzle to unlock access; then open the chest inside the tower for the stone. The puzzle is the essential gate to the reward.
Liurnia of the Lakes: two towers and the Academy
Tower puzzle — Testu’s Rise
Testu’s Rise stands on the island north of Raya Lucaria. Complete its three-beast puzzle, then climb to the top and loot the chest.

Gesture or traversal — Converted Tower
At Converted Tower, the intended route uses the Erudition gesture at the statue to access the upper level and chest. Erudition is associated with giving Thops an Academy Glintstone Key. If you do not use the gesture route, the exterior ruins can also be climbed or jumped with Torrent to reach the upper floor.
Boss reward — Red Wolf of Radagon
The Red Wolf of Radagon drops a Memory Stone when defeated in the Debate Parlor area of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Entering the Academy requires an Academy Glintstone Key, so this option depends on reaching that dungeon and winning the boss fight.

In the Three Sisters area of Liurnia, climb to the upper part of Seluvis’s Rise and open the chest to collect the stone.

Traversal — Lenne’s Rise
Lenne’s Rise is in northeastern Caelid, in the Dragonbarrow area. Use Torrent with the nearby Spirit Spring to reach the tower’s upper area, then loot the chest.

Find Demi-Human Queen Maggie near Hermit Village on Mt. Gelmir. Defeat her to receive the Memory Stone.
