Fextralife’s Cold-Blooded Raptor is a level-100 claw build identified in its video as a Bloodhound Claws build. Secondary coverage describes a Strength/Intelligence focus that pairs cold-related pressure with hemorrhage. It is best treated as a recognizable build concept—not a verified current-patch stat or damage prescription—because the available sources do not establish its exact present-day setup or performance.
What is the Cold-Blooded Raptor build?
Fextralife published the guide video “Elden Ring Claws Build Guide – How to Build a Cold-Blooded Raptor (Level 100 Guide)” on April 2, 2022. Its description identifies the build as a Bloodhound Claws build and lists sections on how it works, armor, talismans, gameplay, attributes, and final thoughts. That confirms the guide’s identity, but not its exact current stat allocation, affinity, or damage output.

A secondary Dot Esports summary characterizes it as a Strength/Intelligence build using Bloodhound Claws, with cold and bleed pressure. The summary also names a Sacrificial Axe, Raptor’s Black Feathers, Haima Glintstone Crown, Lord of Blood’s Exultation, Claw Talisman, Green Turtle Talisman, and Winged Sword Insignia, as well as Royal Knight’s Resolve, Golden Vow, and several sorceries. This is a historical secondary account, not a confirmed, current equipment checklist.
How to evaluate the weapon and status concept
Bloodhound Claws are the named build weapon
The original video identifies Bloodhound Claws as the build’s core weapon. A player discussion that reproduces a linked build mentions Bloodhound Claws in the right hand and Raptor Talons in the left, but the thread also includes player modifications and suggestions. It does not establish that dual-wielding those weapons is the guide’s fixed loadout.

Cold and bleed are a plausible pairing, not a verified best infusion
Secondary coverage describes the build as mixing frostbite pressure with hemorrhage. The claw category can accept Cold affinity when the relevant affinity compatibility is available, making a cold setup mechanically plausible. That alone does not show that Cold is the best affinity for this build’s stats, weapon, or target. The available sources do not confirm the exact affinity used in Fextralife’s original guide.
Strength and Intelligence are a broad profile, not an exact stat sheet
The secondary summary supports describing the concept as Strength/Intelligence-focused, but it does not provide a reliable current stat allocation. Do not treat “level 100” as enough information to reproduce the build precisely: stat choices, affinity, upgrades, and enemy resistances affect the result, and the original guide’s current details are not established here.
Should you use Raptor Talons instead?
Raptor Talons are a separate claw weapon, not a confirmed replacement for the Cold-Blooded Raptor guide’s Bloodhound Claws. They are found in a chest behind an illusory wall in Sage’s Cave in Altus Plateau. The weapon listing gives them a weight of 1.5, requirements of 6 Strength and 14 Dexterity, blood-loss buildup, and Quickstep as their skill. It also estimates their jump attacks deal roughly 10% more damage than those of other claw weapons, attributing the difference to a higher motion value. These are wiki-listed mechanics, not new gameplay measurements.
That jump-attack trait makes Raptor Talons relevant if you want a claw setup built around jumping attacks. It does not prove they outperform Bloodhound Claws across a full build, or that they belong in the original guide’s fixed loadout.

What Raptor of the Mists adds to a claw setup
Raptor of the Mists can be assigned to infusable melee weapons, including claws. During its brief stance, if an enemy attack connects, the character vanishes and rises into the air, allowing a follow-up jump attack. It rewards timing and an opponent who commits to an attack; it is not a guaranteed damage boost when the skill is used without a triggering hit.
For jump-focused setups, the wiki lists these talisman and armor bonuses: Claw Talisman boosts jump-attack damage by 15% in PvE and 7.5% in PvP, while Raptor’s Black Feathers boosts it by 10% in PvE and 5% in PvP. These community-wiki figures have not been independently tested here, so check current in-game behavior before relying on them as patch-current values.
Is the Cold-Blooded Raptor still good?
The sources establish the build’s identity and a broad Strength/Intelligence, cold-and-bleed concept; they do not establish current-patch stats, damage comparisons, or meta standing. Whether it suits you depends on the play pattern you want: a hybrid with possible sorcery options and multiple status pressures, rather than a narrowly focused melee setup. Compare candidate builds by their stat investment, weapon and affinity, reliance on jump attacks versus neutral or charged attacks, and access to ranged utility. No single claw setup is shown by these sources to be best for every player or encounter.
