The DLC is download-only and requires the ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN base game. It is additional content for Nightreign, not an expansion for the original ELDEN RING. The official Nightreign announcement names the DLC and states its format and base-game requirement.
Did Nightreign DLC release in FY2025?
Yes. On February 12, 2025, FromSoftware said the “ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN Additional DLC” was “planned for release in 2025 (FY)” and would feature additional characters and bosses. That was a planned fiscal-year window, not a day-specific confirmation. The company’s announcement did not define the fiscal-year cutoff on that page. The later announcement set the release date as December 4, 2025, and the DLC launched on that date.

Nightreign itself was announced for worldwide release on May 30, 2025. FromSoftware also said the base game could be played standalone, without owning the original ELDEN RING. Its February announcement noted that release information was accurate at the time and subject to change. FromSoftware’s announcement contains the original game date and DLC window.
What is The Duskbloods release date?
Nintendo’s official US listing gives The Duskbloods a release year of 2026, with no month or day specified. The listing identifies it as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive and credits FromSoftware as both developer and publisher. Nintendo’s product page is the cited source for the current window and platform.

No physical edition of The Forsaken Hollows is established by the official announcements; the DLC is download-only. A physical package edition of the ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN base game is available for PS5 and PS4, but that does not mean the DLC itself is on a disc. FromSoftware’s release announcement describes the package version, and the DLC announcement specifies the download-only format.
