Nightreign is a standalone spin-off, so owning ELDEN RING is not a prerequisite. The publisher describes it as co-op action survival for up to three players, with solo play also supported.
Cross-play boundaries
Cross-play does not extend between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platform families. Players can team up across console generations within the same family: PS4 with PS5, or Xbox One with Xbox Series X|S. Bandai Namco’s launch FAQ provides the cross-play details.

Price: check the market and storefront
There is no single global price in the cited official listings. The Japanese launch announcement listed Standard at ¥5,720, Deluxe at ¥7,480, and Collector’s at ¥32,120, including Japanese consumption tax. These are launch-announcement prices, not a current quote.
At the time of the October 8, 2026 check, the official US Xbox Store listed Standard at $39.99+ and Deluxe at $54.99+. The same store listed the Forsaken Hollows add-on separately for $15. The plus sign is part of the storefront’s displayed price; these figures describe that US Xbox listing only and do not establish PlayStation, Steam, retailer, or other-country pricing. Check the US Xbox Store listing for its current offers and contents.

- Elden Ring: Nightreign /PS5
- Confirm your platform and region before comparing prices.
- Check whether the listing is physical or digital, and whether required DLC is included.
- For a physical Standard copy, verify whether your market has a package for your console; the Japanese announcement specified PS5 and PS4 package versions.
- Recheck the storefront before buying because prices and stock can change.
What to know before buying
Choose based on what you want included, not just the edition name. Standard is the base game. Deluxe and Collector’s editions were announced with additional content or extras, but the specific contents and format need to be verified against the listing for your country and platform. In particular, the US Xbox Store identifies Forsaken Hollows as included with Deluxe, while the Japanese announcement described planned additional DLC featuring characters and bosses. Do not assume every region’s Deluxe bundle has identical contents.
For physical extras, the announced Collector’s package includes a Wylder statue, hardcover art book, steelbook, and character cards. A physical Standard package is also confirmed in the Japanese announcement for PS5 and PS4; confirm local availability with the retailer. No particular retailer stock or current physical price is established here.
How successful was Nightreign?
FromSoftware reported that more than 5 million units had shipped worldwide as of July 2025. The developer’s July 24, 2025 press release says that figure includes digital versions and Steam downloads. It is a dated, publisher-reported shipment figure, not a live sales total. Read FromSoftware’s July 24, 2025 announcement.
