Elder Dragon Greyoll is the enormous, stationary dragon south of Fort Faroth in Caelid’s Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow. The encounter’s key twist is that the smaller dragons around her are linked to her health: defeating them reduces Greyoll’s health, and clearing the group can finish the fight.
Where to find Elder Dragon Greyoll
Look in Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow, just south of Fort Faroth in Caelid. Greyoll is easy to distinguish from a standard dragon: she remains stationary, with several lesser dragons gathered around her. The location and encounter details are documented in the community-maintained Elden Ring Wiki entry for Elder Dragon Greyoll.
How the Greyoll encounter works
Greyoll’s health is linked to that of the lesser dragons nearby. Defeating those dragons damages Greyoll as well; eliminating the group can kill her without treating the encounter like a conventional mobile dragon fight. Focus on the surrounding dragons and watch Greyoll’s health as they fall.
What Greyoll drops
The Greyoll reference lists five Dragon Hearts as her reward. This is a community reference listing, not an independently verified current-version test. Greyoll’s defeat also unlocks Greyoll’s Roar for purchase at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid.

Where to get Greyoll’s Roar—and its Dragon Heart cost
After defeating Greyoll, visit the altar at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion. Published community references disagree on the spell’s cost: Eldenpedia lists two Dragon Hearts, while the Elden Ring Wiki lists three. Check the altar’s displayed price in your current game rather than relying on either figure. The spell and its conflicting listed costs appear in the Eldenpedia incantation list and the Elden Ring Wiki page for Greyoll’s Roar.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why exact HP and rune figures are best treated cautiously
Community references report different figures for Greyoll’s health and rune reward, and the available references do not reconcile those values by game version or date. For that reason, a precise HP or rune total should not be treated as an authoritative current figure. The encounter’s location, linked-health mechanic, listed Dragon Heart reward, and spell unlock provide more dependable practical guidance.
