Electronic Super Joy is a single-player platformer whose appeal rests on two things: demanding movement challenges and a prominent electronic soundtrack. Its official feature list promises more than 45 levels, three worlds, three boss fights, and over 35 tracks. That makes it an easy game to understand, but not necessarily an easy one to enjoy: the central question is whether its challenge and style suit you.
What kind of game is Electronic Super Joy?
Released on August 23, 2013, Electronic Super Joy is an action platformer developed by Michael Todd Games and published by 2&30 Software. Steam describes a game of running, jumping, smashing and flying through hazards, with mechanics including low gravity and world rotation. Its official listing presents it as a difficult platform game centered on electronic music. Steam’s store listing is the source for those details.
The structure is single-player, and the main activity is navigating platforming challenges rather than exploring a broad world or building a character. The unusual mechanics give the levels ways to vary the movement problem: a jump that is manageable under normal gravity may demand different timing when gravity shifts or the world rotates.
How much content does it offer?
Steam lists more than 45 levels, three worlds, three boss fights and over 35 music tracks. These are the storefront’s feature claims; they should not be read as a measured playtime estimate. The number of hours needed will depend on how quickly a player clears the challenges and whether they replay levels.

- The classic system that changed gaming history is back!
- Get into spirit for the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. with Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros., out November 13th!
- This special system includes: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Ball (Mario version) and a digital clock
- The original Game & Watch system was released in Japan in 1980 and was the very first handheld gaming console created by Nintendo. Now you can get your hands on a piece of history with a brand new entry in the series – a special golden Game & Watch that includes the original Super Mario Bros., a digital clock and more!
The game’s content pitch is compact and focused: a sequence of platforming stages, changing movement conditions, boss encounters and music. It is a better fit for someone seeking concentrated obstacle-course play than someone looking for a long story campaign or a large exploratory environment.
Is the difficulty satisfying or frustrating?
Difficulty is not a side feature here; Steam explicitly frames the game as difficult. That makes tolerance for repeated attempts an important part of the buying decision. Players who enjoy learning precise jumps and adapting to changing rules are more likely to appreciate the challenge. If failure-heavy platforming tends to feel like friction rather than motivation, the same design emphasis may put you off.

The available descriptions support that broad assessment, but they do not establish a firsthand verdict on checkpoint placement, control responsiveness, or how difficulty ramps from level to level. Those details matter when deciding whether a hard platformer feels fair, so they should not be assumed from the difficulty label alone.
Does the music and presentation make it stand out?
Electronic music is central to the game’s identity, not merely background dressing: Steam advertises over 35 tracks alongside its platforming mechanics. Store and community review material surfaced praise for the soundtrack, visual style and responsive platforming, but those are individual impressions rather than a guarantee that every player will respond the same way.

Review excerpts also surfaced for the Wii U version, but the available material does not establish current Nintendo eShop availability in every region. A storefront listing in one market should not be taken as proof that the game can still be purchased everywhere.

Quick Recap
Who should consider Electronic Super Joy?
- Consider it if you want a focused single-player platformer, enjoy precision challenges, and like electronic music as a major part of a game’s presentation.
- Think carefully if repeated attempts are frustrating for you, or if you need confirmed compatibility with a specific current operating system before purchasing.
- Do not buy it expecting a long-form story campaign, a particular number of hours, or a physical edition: the cited storefront information establishes digital game and add-on options, not those extras.
