In the Enshrouded 1.0 release, the player level cap is 50. The current leveling reference lists 429,094 cumulative XP to reach that cap. XP carries over between levels, then stops accumulating at level 50. Equipment has a separate ceiling: fully upgraded gear can reach level 55, but that does not raise your character above level 50.
Enshrouded’s current level cap at a glance
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Maximum character level | 50 in the 1.0 release |
| Cumulative XP to reach level 50 | 429,094 XP, according to Wikily’s 2026 leveling reference |
| What happens at the cap? | XP no longer accumulates after level 50 |
| Maximum fully upgraded equipment level | 55 |
| Skill points from level-ups | 2 per level; 49 level-ups provide 98 points |
The two numbers that cause the most confusion are 50 and 55. Fifty is the player’s character-level limit. Fifty-five describes the level of fully upgraded equipment. Treating the gear number as a second character cap leads to an incorrect answer.

What the level-50 cap means
Level 50 is the character limit
Keen Games’ 1.0 release changelog states that the new maximum player level is 50. Once your character reaches that level, the normal experience system no longer adds XP to your total. You can continue exploring, questing and fighting, but those activities do not push the character to level 51 under the 1.0 rules described here.
XP is cumulative, not a final-level fee
The 429,094 figure is a cumulative target: it represents the total XP needed across the entire leveling journey, not an amount you must earn in one activity after reaching level 49. Enshrouded carries leftover XP from one level into the next. If an activity gives you more XP than the current level requires, the excess remains part of your progress toward the following level.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For example, imagine a level requires 600 XP and you have 450 XP toward it. An award of 300 XP supplies the remaining 150, advances you, and leaves the other 150 applied to the next level. The numbers in this example are illustrative; the important rule is that progress is not discarded at the level-up boundary.
How much XP is needed for level 50?
The current cumulative figure
Wikily’s 2026 leveling reference reports 429,094 cumulative XP to reach level 50. Because the game’s experience curve has changed between updates, attach the date and version context to this number rather than treating it as a permanent value for every build of Enshrouded.

Cumulative XP versus per-level XP
A cumulative total answers “How much XP from the start of the game to level 50?” A per-level table answers “How much XP is needed for this particular step?” Those are different measurements. Adding the individual requirements for every level produces the cumulative target; reading one row from a table does not tell you the full amount still needed from level 1.
When checking a calculator or spreadsheet, first identify which convention it uses. A cumulative column should rise as the level increases and finish at the level-50 target. A per-level column can rise, fall or change independently because it records only the interval between two adjacent levels. Mixing the two is a common reason players think a chart is missing XP.

Why older Enshrouded XP charts stop at level 35 or 36
The experience curve has been reworked
Keen Games explicitly noted in a developer update for Souls of the Frozen Frontier: “The xp needed for leveling up has been reworked.” That statement explains why early-access tables can disagree with the current level-50 requirement. An old chart may be internally correct for the patch in which it was published while still being unsuitable for the 1.0 game.
The official wiki table is not a complete 1.0 cap table
The visible experience table on the official Enshrouded Wiki lists per-level values through level 36. The 1.0 player cap is 50. These facts are not contradictory: a table that ends at 36 may document an earlier range or an incomplete section rather than the current maximum. Always check the table’s update date and the game version it describes before using it to plan the final levels.

Level-45 answers generally come from an earlier progression state, an early-access reference or a discussion that has not been updated after the 1.0 change. For a current 1.0 character, use 50 as the player cap. If a guide says 45, verify when it was written and whether it is discussing character level, equipment level or an older XP curve.
Which activities award XP?
The official Enshrouded Wiki documents four XP sources:

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Discovering landmarks: exploration discoveries contribute experience as you uncover the world.
- Completing quests: quest objectives provide XP alongside their other rewards.
- Defeating monsters: combat encounters award experience when enemies are defeated.
- Using Experience Scrolls: scrolls are consumable XP items and count as a direct progression source.
The documented sources do not establish one universal “best” activity for every character or situation. Your practical rate depends on which quests remain, how quickly you can defeat enemies, which landmarks you have not discovered and how many scrolls you possess. Therefore, a guide that promises a single fastest method should be treated as a route recommendation, not as a rule implied by the level-cap data.
A practical plan for reaching level 50
1. Confirm the version before calculating your target
Check that you are playing the 1.0 release or a later build whose progression rules you have verified. Do not combine an early-access per-level chart with the current cumulative target. If a guide does not identify its patch or date, use it only for general activity ideas, not for exact XP planning.
2. Track cumulative progress
Use the game’s current level and XP display as your immediate progress marker, and keep the 429,094 target as the full-journey reference from the 2026 table. Because XP carries forward, record the total after each level rather than resetting a handwritten counter whenever the level-up animation appears.
3. Combine the four documented sources
Explore while travelling between quest objectives, clear monsters that block your route, and use Experience Scrolls when their immediate level progress is useful. This approach reduces dead time without assuming that one activity has a proven universal yield advantage. Landmark discovery and quests are especially easy to overlook if you focus exclusively on combat.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
4. Spend scrolls with the carryover rule in mind
A scroll’s XP is not lost merely because it crosses a level boundary. If you are close to a level-up, the award completes that level and the surplus continues toward the next one. The decision to save or use a scroll is therefore about timing and convenience, not about avoiding an automatic carryover penalty.
5. Stop recalculating after level 50
At level 50, the game stops accumulating additional XP under the stated 1.0 behavior. Continuing activities for exploration, quests, loot or other objectives is still possible, but there is no level-51 XP balance to build.

Skill points from leveling
Each level grants two skill points. Reaching level 50 involves 49 level-ups from the starting level, producing 98 skill points from levels alone. This arithmetic is separate from XP: the 429,094 total gets the character to the cap, while the two-points-per-level rule determines the level-derived skill-point total.
Additional skill points outside levels
Shroud Roots and Elixir Wells provide more skill points. Consequently, a character’s total available skill points can exceed the 98 earned through the 49 level-ups. Do not use the level-up total as a claim about the maximum number of points obtainable from every source.

Why level-55 equipment does not raise the character cap
The 1.0 changelog pairs the level-50 player maximum with a level-55 maximum for fully upgraded equipment. These are separate progression systems. Gear level describes the ceiling of upgraded equipment; character level describes the player’s XP progression. A level-55 weapon or armor piece is therefore compatible with a level-50 character and does not imply that the character can earn XP to level 55.
When comparing guides, label every number as either player level or equipment level. A table that lists “55” without that label can appear to contradict the 1.0 character cap even though it is describing gear.
Common questions and troubleshooting
My XP appears to pass the amount needed for a level. Did I lose it?
No. The documented system carries leftover XP into the next level. A level-up can therefore be followed immediately by visible progress toward the next level.
I reached level 50 but still see XP rewards. Can I level again?
The 1.0 behavior described by the current reference is that XP stops accumulating at level 50. Activities may continue to display rewards or remain worthwhile for their other outcomes, but they do not create a level-51 character progression bar.
Which number should I trust when two guides disagree?
Prefer the source that identifies the 1.0 rules, distinguishes cumulative from per-level XP and gives a current date. Keen Games has reworked the curve before, so an undated early-access chart can be accurate historically while being obsolete for the present cap.

Does the 429,094 total apply to every future update?
No fixed XP total should be assumed timeless. The figure is the current value reported by Wikily in 2026 for the level-50 progression reference. A future balance change could alter the curve or cap; recheck the version and date whenever Keen Games publishes a progression update.
Reference checklist before using an XP guide
- Is the guide written for the 1.0 release or a clearly identified later patch?
- Does it say whether its numbers are cumulative XP or XP for one level?
- Does it distinguish character level 50 from fully upgraded gear level 55?
- Does it account for XP carrying over after a level-up?
- Does it identify whether its table ends at 35 or 36 because it is an older or partial reference?
- Does it describe XP sources such as landmarks, quests, monsters and Experience Scrolls?
The bottom line
For Enshrouded’s 1.0 progression, plan for character level 50 and 429,094 cumulative XP according to the 2026 leveling reference. XP carries between levels and stops at the cap. Level-55 equipment is a separate upgrade ceiling, and the 98 points from 49 level-ups are supplemented by Shroud Roots and Elixir Wells. Older level-35, level-36 or level-45 figures describe earlier or different references, not the current 1.0 player maximum.
