ep0lvrac.dll is an older Epson printer-driver component, not a Windows system file or Visual C++ runtime. If Windows says it is missing, not found, or could not be loaded, reinstall the complete Epson package for your exact printer model instead of downloading the DLL by itself.
What this file actually does
Public file records associate ep0lvrac.dll with an older EPSON Printer Driver from SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION. It is commonly associated with an Epson driver package containing prnep00l.inf, which Windows may store beneath a path similar to:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
C:WindowsSystem32DriverStoreFileRepositoryprnep00l.inf_amd64_neutral_...Amd64
That location belongs to Windows Driver Store management, but it does not make the file a Microsoft component. The exact Epson printer models that shipped this file are not reliably established.

Public records also disagree about the file’s size, version, and 32-bit or 64-bit status. Do not select a replacement based only on the filename. Use the Epson package intended for your printer model and the Windows edition installed on your computer.

Causes and symptoms
| What you see | Most likely meaning | Best response |
|---|---|---|
ep0lvrac.dll was not found after starting Windows |
An Epson startup or print component is still registered | Reinstall or remove the Epson software and stale startup entry |
The code execution cannot proceed because ep0lvrac.dll is missing |
The Epson driver installation is incomplete or damaged | Install the complete Epson driver package |
The specified module could not be found |
The DLL itself or one of its dependencies may be missing | Reinstall the package and inspect the named executable |
ep0lvrac.dll is either not designed to run on Windows |
The file is corrupt or incompatible | Remove the damaged package and install the correct Epson version |
| The message appeared after removing an Epson printer | A leftover Epson component is trying to load the old driver | Uninstall Epson software and remove the unused printer |
| Antivirus quarantined the file | The installed driver file was blocked or detected | Verify its source and prefer reinstalling the signed Epson package |
| The message appears in a game or unrelated application | The application may be reporting a dependency problem, or the Epson component is being loaded indirectly | Record the executable name before repairing anything |
No reliable public evidence identifies a particular game, application, or installer that specifically requires this DLL. The executable shown in the error is therefore important evidence.
Fix 1: Reinstall the complete Epson driver package
This is the safest and most likely solution.
- Identify the exact Epson printer model from the label on the printer or from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Open Epson’s official printer driver support portal in your browser.
- Select your country or region.
- Enter the exact printer model.
- Select the Windows version that matches your computer.
- Download the complete Printer Driver, Drivers and Utilities Combo Package, or the package Epson provides for that model.
- If the installer requests it, disconnect the USB cable or turn off the printer.
- Right-click the downloaded installer and select Run as administrator.
- Follow the setup prompts and reconnect or turn on the printer when requested.
- Restart Windows.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Add device and add the Epson printer again if it is not listed.
The Epson package, rather than an isolated DLL, restores the driver files, dependencies, services, printer configuration, and published INF information together.

- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the Epson printer.
- Choose Remove.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for Epson software.
- Select the relevant Epson entry, choose the three-dot menu, and select Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the official Epson installer again.
Check Windows architecture before installing
Open Settings > System > About and read System type. It will identify whether Windows is 64-bit or 32-bit.
Install the package Epson provides for that operating system and printer model. Do not copy a 32-bit DLL into System32, use a 64-bit DLL in SysWOW64, or assume that a file inventory’s bitness description applies to every Epson package. The public records for ep0lvrac.dll do not establish one universal architecture.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFix 2: Update or reinstall the printer driver through Windows
Windows may have retained a broken Epson driver even after the visible printer was removed.
- Right-click Start and open Device Manager.
- Expand Printers, Print queues, and, if present, Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Look for the Epson printer or an entry with a warning icon.
- Right-click the Epson entry and select Uninstall device.
- If Windows displays Attempt to remove the driver for this device or Delete the driver software for this device, select it only when you have identified the Epson device.
- Select Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Return to Device Manager.
- Select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
- Install the current model-specific Epson package.
You can also check for a driver supplied through Windows Update:
- Open Settings > Windows Update.
- Select Advanced options > Optional updates.
- Expand Driver updates.
- Install an Epson-related update only if it matches your printer.
- Restart Windows and test printing.
Outbyte Driver Updater can reduce the manual work of hunting through driver versions and guessing which device entry is stale; its free scan shows what it identifies, while driver installation through the full version remains optional.
If Device Manager shows no Epson entry, that does not prove the driver is gone. Older printer packages may remain in the Driver Store or in installed Epson software, which is why the complete Epson installer or a proper uninstall is preferable to deleting a visible DLL.
Fix 3: Remove a stale Epson printer and startup reference
If the problem began after you stopped using or removed an Epson printer, Windows may be trying to start a leftover Epson component.
First remove the printer:
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the unused Epson printer.
- Select Remove.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Uninstall Epson applications that belong to that printer.
- Restart Windows.
Then check startup entries:
- Open Settings > Apps > Startup.
- Look for an Epson entry.
- Turn it off if the printer software has been removed and you no longer use that printer.
- Restart Windows.
You can also open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc, select Startup apps, and disable a clearly identified Epson entry. Do not disable an unknown executable merely because its name is unfamiliar.

If you still use the printer, do not just disable its startup component. Reinstall the current model-specific Epson package instead.
Fix 4: Check antivirus quarantine before restoring anything
Windows Security may have quarantined the DLL, or another security product may have removed it.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review detections that mention Epson, the printer software, or
ep0lvrac.dll. - Expand the detection and inspect its file path and source.
Do not restore an isolated file simply because its name matches the error. Restore it only when you can verify that it came from the Epson-installed driver package and that the package is digitally trusted. Reinstalling the complete official Epson package is safer than restoring an isolated file.
If the file was found outside an Epson driver directory, especially in a temporary folder or an unrelated application directory, leave it quarantined and run a full scan. The filename alone cannot establish whether a file is malicious.
Fix 5: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
Use these commands when other Windows files are also missing, applications are failing broadly, or the problem followed an interrupted update. They do not replace the Epson driver package.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows after both commands complete.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows files. Neither command downloads a missing Epson driver from a third-party source.

- USB 2.0 and FireWire interfaces; PC and Mac compatible
Outbyte PC Repair can make the manual process of identifying broader Windows problems easier; its free scan shows what it finds, while repair through the full version is optional and not required for an Epson driver reinstall.
If SFC reports that it could not repair some files, restart and run the commands again, then repair the Epson package separately. If the only error concerns ep0lvrac.dll, Windows component repair is unlikely to be the primary fix.
Fix 6: Check optional Windows printing features
This step is useful when Windows printing components themselves are disabled, but it will not supply a missing Epson DLL.
- Press
Windows+R. - Type:
optionalfeatures
- Press Enter.
- Expand Print and Document Services.
- Confirm that the printing features required by your setup are enabled.
- Select OK.
- Restart Windows.
Do not enable unrelated features merely because the DLL error mentions printing. Reinstall the Epson package if the error remains.
Fix 7: Remove a broken driver package correctly
Never manually delete files from:
C:WindowsSystem32DriverStore
Microsoft warns that direct deletion can leave Windows with inconsistent driver records.
To identify installed third-party driver packages:
- Open Command Prompt as administrator.
- Run:
pnputil /enum-drivers
- Review the output for an Epson provider and the related published name, such as
oem##.inf. - Confirm that the package belongs to the unused or damaged Epson printer.
- Remove only that verified package:
pnputil /delete-driver oem##.inf /uninstall
Replace oem##.inf with the actual published name. Do not guess the name, and do not add /force unless a specific repair procedure requires it. Restart Windows and install the correct Epson package afterward.
Why common DLL fixes are unsafe
Do not use a random DLL download
Downloading ep0lvrac.dll from an unofficial DLL site can provide the wrong version, wrong architecture, modified code, or a file containing malware. It may also leave the missing Epson dependencies, registry information, printer services, or driver INF unresolved.

Do not copy the file into System32
Copying an isolated DLL into System32, SysWOW64, or an application’s folder can create version and architecture conflicts. It also bypasses driver signing and package ownership. Restore the package that installed the file instead.
Do not run regsvr32 by default
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. It does not reconstruct a printer-driver installation, and many driver DLLs are not COM libraries.
If a vendor specifically documents registration for a particular DLL, follow that vendor procedure. For this filename, regsvr32 ep0lvrac.dll is not a default repair step. An error stating that the entry point was not found would be expected for a DLL that does not support self-registration.
If the error continues
Capture this information before contacting Epson or Microsoft support:
- The complete error text.
- The executable named in the dialog.
- The exact Epson printer model.
- Your Windows edition and system type.
- Whether the issue started after installing, removing, or updating Epson software.
- The Epson package you installed.
- The result of
pnputil /enum-drivers. - Whether Windows Security quarantined the file.
- The file path, digital signature status, and timestamp of any remaining copy.
If reinstalling fails, open Event Viewer by searching for it from Start, then review Windows Logs > Application and Windows Logs > System around the time of the error. A dependency failure may identify a different missing module, which explains why restoring only ep0lvrac.dll did not work.
If the problem began immediately after a driver or Windows change, open System Restore by pressing Windows + R, entering:
rstrui.exe
Select a restore point from before the failure and review the affected programs before confirming. Use this only when a suitable restore point exists.
The correct endpoint is a working Epson printer with the complete, model-matched driver installed, or a clean system with the stale Epson component removed.
