1. Find the installed Epson product
- Press Windows key + I.
- Select Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Look for an Epson printer and note its complete model name.
- Select the printer and check whether Epson utilities or software are listed elsewhere in Installed apps.
Then open Settings → Apps → Installed apps and search for entries beginning with Epson. Record the printer model and the names of related Epson utilities before uninstalling anything.

Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
Time needed: 5–10 minutes
Antivirus software can remove or quarantine a driver file after an update or during a cleanup operation. Restore it only when the file came from a verified Epson installation and Windows Security identifies the detection as a false positive.

Also check whether the calling application is 32-bit or 64-bit. A 32-bit program cannot use a 64-bit DLL as a substitute, and a 64-bit program cannot safely use an arbitrary 32-bit replacement. - Run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
If SFC repairs files, test the Epson software again. If both commands report no integrity violations, return to the Epson driver package rather than repeating them.

- Select an appropriate restore point created before the error began.
- Review the affected programs.
- Start the restore and allow Windows to restart.
You can also open Settings → System → Recovery → Advanced startup → Restart now, then choose Troubleshoot → Advanced options → System Restore.

System Restore is not appropriate when no relevant restore point exists or when the file may be malware. It also does not replace the need to install the correct Epson driver afterward.
Why you should not download ep0nre9a.dll
Avoid DLL download sites sites and unofficial repair utilities that offer a standalone copy. The file may be modified, unsigned, the wrong architecture, or from a different Epson package.
