Exploration therefore feeds directly into combat customization rather than serving only as sightseeing or lore collection.
The game is still in announcement-stage development. Its broad systems are described by the Steam listing and Marvelous’ official page, but class limits, party rules, maps, numerical stats, equipment progression and endgame systems have not been published. The guide below separates confirmed features from details that remain unknown.

What is confirmed about Eternal Anima?
| System | What has been announced | What is not yet specified |
|---|---|---|
| Combat | Turn-based command battles using Future Sight to preview enemy actions and expected outcomes. | Initiative rules, damage formulas, status effects, resource costs, party AI and difficulty modes. |
| Psychometry | Wade reads memories embedded in objects and uses those memories to inherit abilities and classes. | How often objects appear, whether every memory is missable, and the exact activation rules. |
| Builds | Inherited classes and abilities can be freely combined to create a personal battle style. | Class-slot counts, combination restrictions, passive rules, prerequisites and respec options. |
| World | The story moves between past and present across four lost continents, beginning from Urvis Ael and the Forbidden Sea. | The complete map, travel structure, region order and endgame areas. |
| Release | The game is listed for PC through Steam, but it is not currently available. | Final launch timing, editions, pricing and any additional platforms. |
That distinction matters because many pages may present guesses as if they were a finished strategy guide. At present, you can understand the intended combat-and-exploration loop, but you cannot make a reliable level-by-level build plan or an “optimal class” chart from official information.
How Future Sight combat works
Future Sight is the central combat idea. Instead of treating the enemy’s next move as hidden information, the game is designed to show you what the opponent is about to do and what the exchange is expected to produce. You then choose a command that can alter that forecast.

The official store description summarizes the system as: “Control your fate in turn-based combat by using Future Sight to foresee enemy actions and strategically rewrite the future.” In practical terms, this makes each decision a response to visible information. The relevant question is not simply “Which attack has the highest power?” but “What does the opponent intend to do, and which available command changes the result most effectively?”
The announced decision pattern
- Read the forecast. Future Sight presents an enemy action and an expected outcome before you finalize your response.
- Identify the danger. Decide whether the preview points to damage, a defensive problem or another tactical threat. The exact categories and icons have not been documented.
- Choose an intervention. The announced examples include raising defenses or striking first to disrupt the opponent.
- Commit to the command. Your choice changes how the next exchange unfolds rather than merely advancing a hidden initiative queue.
- Reassess the next forecast. Because the system is built around rewriting the immediate future, every exchange supplies new information for the following decision.
This is best understood as planning around a forecast, not as a conventional system in which you memorize an unseen turn order. The preview should let you weigh protection against interruption: defending may reduce the impact of an incoming action, while acting first may prevent that action from resolving as shown.
What the preview does not tell us yet
No published source gives exact initiative calculations, hit or damage formulas, status-effect interactions, resource requirements or rules for simultaneous actions. It is also unknown whether Future Sight previews every enemy command, only the next action, or a more limited set of likely outcomes. Do not assume that the preview guarantees a fixed result; the announced material only establishes that the player can foresee an enemy action and its expected outcome before choosing a response.
How to think about a Future Sight turn
When hands-on details eventually become available, a sound approach will be to classify each forecast by the problem it creates. A dangerous attack may call for defense; an interruptible action may reward striking first; a low-impact action may be an opportunity to prepare a more favorable exchange. Those are tactical interpretations of the announced system, not confirmed commands or guaranteed counters.
The system also gives inherited abilities a clear purpose. A class or ability is valuable not only for its raw effect but for the kinds of forecasts it can answer. An ability that protects the party, disrupts an enemy or changes the result of a predicted action would matter because it expands the choices available after Future Sight reveals the next exchange. The game has not published the exact abilities, so no specific matchup or rotation can be recommended yet.

Using Psychometry to turn exploration into progression
Wade’s Psychometry is the bridge between the world and the combat system. Steam describes it as the ability to read memories embedded within objects. Marvelous’ official description adds that deciphering those memories allows Wade to inherit abilities and classes in combat.
The announced loop can therefore be expressed as a four-part chain:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Explore a region. Move through the environments of the past and present and look for objects that carry a memory.
- Read the object. Use Psychometry to decipher the memory embedded in it.
- Connect with an earlier hero or era. The memory provides the link to knowledge from a previous age.
- Apply the inheritance. The resulting class or ability becomes part of Wade’s combat toolkit and can be combined with other inherited options.
This makes exploration mechanically important. Finding a memory-bearing object is not described as a purely narrative collectible; it is the announced route to expanding the choices available in battle. A player who ignores the world may consequently miss opportunities to broaden a battle style, although the available material does not say whether any object, class or ability can be permanently missed.
What counts as an object?
The official descriptions refer broadly to memories dwelling within objects and do not provide a catalog of item types. There is no confirmed list of relic categories, interaction prompts, rarity tiers or detection abilities. Until those rules are shown, it is safer to treat Psychometry as a story-integrated discovery mechanic rather than assume a conventional loot table.
Past and present are part of the same investigation
Wade’s journey moves between past and present, so a memory may explain an earlier event while also changing how the current world is understood. The announced structure ties those time periods together: Psychometry reveals forgotten history, and that history supplies the classes and abilities used in present combat. The game has not explained whether revisiting a location changes its objects, but the two-era premise means context is likely to matter when interpreting what Wade finds.

Classes, abilities and build flexibility
The confirmed progression model is inheritance rather than a published level chart. Reading an object’s memory grants access to a class or ability, and the Steam listing says these options can be freely combined to create a unique battle style.
Recommended Free Tools
What “freely combined” establishes
The phrase indicates that the player is expected to assemble a personal toolkit instead of following one mandatory class path. In principle, exploration can supply new ingredients while combat reveals which combinations answer the enemy actions shown by Future Sight. That relationship gives the progression system a practical loop: discover a memory, gain a new option, then test how that option changes your responses in turn-based battles.
What you cannot plan yet
A complete build guide is not possible because the following details remain unpublished:
- The number of class or ability slots available at one time.
- Whether classes can be combined without restrictions or only within defined categories.
- Whether inherited abilities are active commands, passive effects, or both.
- Any prerequisites tied to story progress, previous classes, statistics or specific memories.
- How upgrades work, including costs, levels, ranks and replacement rules.
- Whether the player can respec, swap inherited options freely or recover an earlier configuration.
- The size and identity of the complete class roster.
These are not minor omissions. Slot counts and replacement rules determine whether experimentation is cheap or consequential, while prerequisites determine whether a class can be used immediately after discovery. Until the developer publishes those systems, avoid guides that claim a definitive best build, a final class tier list or an exact inheritance order.
Useful comparison criteria for a future full guide

- Contribution: What does each inherited class add to the battle toolkit?
- Forecast interaction: Which abilities answer the enemy actions revealed by Future Sight, and under what conditions?
- Availability: How difficult or late is the relevant memory-bearing object to obtain?
- Combination flexibility: Can the class and its abilities coexist with the rest of the chosen setup, or do slot and compatibility rules limit the pairing?
Those criteria follow from the announced design. They are not a substitute for the missing numerical values, but they provide a useful framework for evaluating builds when the roster and rules are revealed.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Exploration, setting and the four lost continents
The story begins in Urvis Ael, which Steam describes as a false paradise where hoping for a better future is a capital offense. Wade leaves this place by throwing himself into the Forbidden Sea, beginning a journey through the past and present of four lost continents.
The independent world reference identifies Urvis Ael, Port Azurea and Ambulis among the presented regions. These names establish the scope of the setting, but they do not yet form a complete route or map. The order in which regions are visited, the travel method between them and the number of explorable locations within each continent have not been published.
Why the setting matters to progression
The world is not just a backdrop for battles. Its objects hold the memories that unlock the combat system, and those memories reveal a history Wade is trying to recover. Exploration has two simultaneous outcomes: it advances understanding of the lost past and can expand the set of classes and abilities available in combat.

That connection also explains why a conventional “rush the next objective” approach may not represent the intended experience. The announced design gives exploration a direct mechanical reward, but it does not state whether objects are hidden, marked, optional or tied to side content. Until those rules are demonstrated, the only defensible advice is to examine the environments carefully and use Psychometry whenever the game presents an object that can be read.

What is still unknown about progression and endgame?
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Is there a level system? | No level curve or numerical progression model has been published. |
| How many classes can be equipped? | The number of class slots has not been announced. |
| Can every class and ability be combined? | The store listing promises free combination for unique battle styles, but restrictions and compatibility rules are not detailed. |
| Are there equipment upgrades? | No equipment progression, upgrade costs or enhancement rules have been confirmed. |
| Is there respecialization? | No respec or inheritance-replacement rules have been announced. |
| What happens after the main journey? | Endgame progression and post-story activities have not been published. |
| Are there fixed party members? | Party composition and party-control rules remain unpublished. |
Because these answers are missing, a numbered leveling route or endgame checklist would be speculation. The reliable progression advice is limited to the announced loop: explore, use Psychometry on memory-bearing objects, inherit the resulting combat options and adapt those options to the enemy actions shown by Future Sight.
Release date, platform and buying guidance
Eternal Anima is not currently available on Steam. Steam lists a planned release of March 3, 2027, while Marvelous’ official page lists March 4, 2027 for PC via Steam. Those are the two current announcements, and the one-day difference may reflect a listing or regional date convention. Treat the date as provisional until the publisher and store display a single finalized schedule.
The announced platform is PC through Steam. No other platform has been confirmed in the cited material. There is also no verified physical edition, retail listing, strategy guide or title-specific soundtrack to use as a buying reference at this stage. Price, editions, preload timing, system requirements and launch bonuses have not been published in the available announcements.

- Confirm the release date shown on the Steam store page, since it may change or be localized.
- Check the final system requirements before purchase; none are available in the current announcements.
- Look for a developer explanation of class slots, inheritance limits and respec behavior if you want to plan a build in advance.
- Read the final combat tutorial carefully, because the current descriptions do not establish the exact meaning of every Future Sight forecast.
How to use this guide when the game launches
On release, begin by learning what information Future Sight actually exposes: whether it shows one action, an outcome range or additional conditions. Then test defensive and interrupting commands against the same type of forecast so you understand how the rewrite works before committing to a long-term build.
For exploration, treat every Psychometry interaction as potentially relevant to progression until the game proves otherwise. Record which object produced each inherited option, where it was found and whether the option can be replaced. That information will reveal whether classes are permanent unlocks, loadout choices or resources governed by slot limits.
Finally, evaluate a build by the decisions it enables. A class that looks weak in isolation may be valuable if it answers a frequent enemy forecast, while a powerful ability may be difficult to use if it consumes a scarce slot or requires a memory found late in the story. The announced systems reward that kind of relationship between discovery and tactical response, but the exact trade-offs must wait for a playable version.
