Eternal Anima is announced for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. Marvelous lists a worldwide release date of March 4, 2027. Steam advertises Steam Cloud, but no official listing or announcement confirms that a save can move between Switch 2, PS5, Xbox, and Steam. As of October 16, 2026, cross-platform saves and cross-progression remain unannounced.
Which platforms will run Eternal Anima?
Marvelous has announced four platforms for Eternal Anima: Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam. There is no announcement for the original Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, another PC storefront, or a mobile version in the official materials currently available.

| Platform | Announcement status | Date shown by the platform or publisher | Availability information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Announced | March 4, 2027 worldwide | Physical Standard and Limited Editions announced |
| PlayStation 5 | Announced | March 4, 2027 worldwide; PlayStation Store displays March 4, 2027 at 05:00 UTC | Physical Standard and Limited Editions announced; PlayStation listing says offline play enabled and one player |
| Xbox Series X|S | Announced | March 4, 2027 worldwide | Physical Standard Edition announced |
| Windows PC via Steam | Announced | Steam currently displays March 3, 2027; publisher states March 4, 2027 worldwide | Steam listing includes Steam Cloud |
The publisher’s March 4 date is the appropriate date to use for the game’s worldwide launch. Steam’s March 3 display is a one-day difference in the storefront listing; Marvelous has not announced why the two displays differ. Treat the Steam date as a storefront display rather than a separate PC launch announcement unless Marvelous or Steam changes it.
When does Eternal Anima release?
Marvelous announced a worldwide launch on March 4, 2027. That date applies to Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Steam version in the publisher’s announcement. The PlayStation Store gives a specific time of 05:00 UTC on March 4, while Steam currently shows March 3 on its store page. Release timing can therefore appear on a different calendar day in some local storefronts, but the publisher’s date remains March 4, 2027.

Does Eternal Anima have cross-save?
Cross-platform saving has not been confirmed. No reviewed Marvelous, Marvelous USA, corporate, Steam, or PlayStation announcement says that a save made on one platform can be opened on another. There is also no official statement confirming cross-progression, account linking between console and Steam versions, or a manual save-transfer process.
The most accurate wording as of October 16, 2026 is “cross-platform saves are unannounced” or “cross-save is unconfirmed.” That is different from saying the feature definitely does not exist. Marvelous or the game’s publishing partners could still explain the system before launch or in a post-release update.
What does Steam Cloud mean here?
Steam’s store page lists Steam Cloud. That normally indicates synchronization of supported save data among devices using the same Steam account, such as moving from one Windows PC to another. It does not, by itself, mean that Steam can read a save from a PS5, Xbox Series console, or Switch 2.

Only the first item is identified on an official store listing. The other capabilities should not be assumed from the Steam Cloud label.
Can you move a PS5 save to Steam or Xbox?
There is currently no announced transfer method. The PlayStation listing identifies offline play and one player, but it does not describe a cross-platform account service or export/import function. Consequently, a PS5 purchaser should plan on the possibility that the PS5 save remains on PS5 unless Marvelous later documents a shared system.
The same qualification applies in the opposite direction. Starting on Steam does not guarantee that the save will appear on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Switch 2. Steam Cloud can protect or synchronize the Steam version across compatible Steam installations, but it is not evidence of console interoperability.

If you buy the Switch 2 version, can you continue elsewhere?
No continuation path has been announced for a Switch 2 save. A Switch 2 buyer should choose that version on the assumption that progress may be tied to the Switch 2 release until an official cross-save policy says otherwise. The same practical assumption applies to Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
Recommended Free Tools
This is a planning rule, not a confirmed denial. If Marvelous later introduces account linking or a transfer tool, the requirements could include a publisher account, an online connection, identical regional versions, or a one-time migration. None of those requirements has been announced, so do not create accounts or purchase an additional version expecting a transfer that has not been documented.
What physical editions are available?
Marvelous has announced physical editions for the three console platforms. Prices below are the euro prices stated in the announcement and may not match local currency pricing or a retailer’s final price.

Choose Switch 2 if portability is your priority
Switch 2 is one of the announced platforms and has both the Standard and Limited physical editions. Because cross-save has not been confirmed, choose it when you expect to play primarily on Switch 2 rather than assuming you can move the same campaign to another system.
Choose PS5 for the PlayStation ecosystem
PS5 has the same announced worldwide date and both physical editions. The PlayStation Store listing describes offline play and a one-player experience. There is no stated PS5-to-PC or PS5-to-console save-transfer feature, so keep your expected play on PS5 when evaluating the purchase.

Choose Xbox Series X|S for Xbox hardware
Xbox Series X|S receives the Standard physical Edition announcement and the same publisher launch date. The available materials do not describe Xbox-to-PC or Xbox-to-console cross-progression, so do not treat the Xbox release as a shared save with Steam.
Choose Steam for PC play and Steam Cloud
The Steam version is the announced Windows PC release and lists Steam Cloud. That makes it the clearest option for synchronizing progress among your own compatible Steam installations. It still does not establish access to a console save, and the store’s March 3 date differs from the publisher’s March 4 worldwide date.
How to check cross-save status before buying or switching platforms
Because the feature is unconfirmed, use a source-specific checklist rather than relying on retailer descriptions or assumptions about cloud saves:
- Check the latest Eternal Anima announcement from Marvelous for explicit terms such as “cross-save,” “cross-progression,” “account linking,” or “save transfer.”
- Read the store page for the exact platform you intend to buy. A cloud-save badge usually describes that platform’s own service, not interoperability with other systems.
- Look for a setup instruction that names the accounts involved and lists supported platform pairs. A real cross-save system should identify whether PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, and Steam are all included.
- Confirm whether the feature applies to story saves, profile progression, downloadable content, or only selected data. These can be separate systems.
- Verify regional and edition restrictions before starting a second copy. A transfer may require matching regions or versions, if Marvelous introduces one.
- Keep the original platform’s save until the transfer process is documented and completed. Do not delete local data simply because a second version has been installed.
What is confirmed, and what is still unknown?
- Confirmed: releases are announced for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.
- Confirmed: Marvelous gives March 4, 2027 as the worldwide release date.
- Confirmed: Steam lists Steam Cloud for the PC version.
- Confirmed: physical Standard Editions are announced for all three consoles; the physical Limited Edition is announced for PS5 and Switch 2.
- Not confirmed: PS5-to-Steam, Xbox-to-Steam, Switch 2-to-console, or any other cross-platform save transfer.
- Not confirmed: cross-progression, publisher-account linking, cross-buy, or a manual export/import tool.
Until an official statement fills those gaps, the safest buying decision is to select the platform on which you expect to play the campaign. Steam Cloud can help within Steam; it should not be read as a promise of cross-platform saves.
