Pokémon nature chart: every nature and its stat changes
“Increased” and “decreased” describe the two stats a nature affects. The five neutral natures have the same stat in both columns, so neither receives a net nature-based change.

How to choose a nature
For a particular Pokémon or competitive set, look at the stat it needs most and the stat it can most afford to sacrifice. For example, Jolly raises Speed and lowers Sp. Atk, while Modest raises Sp. Atk and lowers Attack. The better choice depends on the Pokémon’s role and moveset; there is no universally best nature.
What nature changes—and what it does not
The Pokémon Company International’s glossary describes nature as a permanent trait that affects stat growth, with one stat generally growing faster and another more slowly. Nature affects the five non-HP stats shown in the chart: Attack, Defense, Speed, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def. It does not modify HP. The glossary also notes that the in-game Data screen shows nature-affected stats; the exact presentation can vary by game, so check the relevant title’s screen.
