Epic Games Store offered Farming Simulator 22 as the second free game of its 2024 Epic Mega Sale, from May 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. EDT through May 30, 2024, at 10:59 a.m. EDT. Anyone who claimed the game before the deadline kept the Windows base-game license in their Epic library. Anyone who missed the window cannot claim that expired promotion now.
As of August 10, 2026, the U.S. Epic listing shows Farming Simulator 22 with a $29.99 price and a “Buy Now” button. The giveaway did not make the game permanently free for everyone, and it was not a bundle containing every expansion or DLC pack.

If you are seeing an old headline saying that Epic “is giving away” the game, read it as historical coverage of that May 2024 promotion. The listing is no longer a free claim page.
What did the giveaway include?
The promotion covered the base game of Farming Simulator 22, developed and published by GIANTS Software. Epic’s product page identifies the offer as the Windows product and lists the original release date as November 22, 2021.
This was a full commercial game rather than a demo or a limited free weekend. The base game includes:

- Agriculture, animal husbandry, and forestry.
- Three American and European environments.
- Seasonal cycles that affect farm operations.
- Production chains that let players process farmed goods into other products.
- Grapes and olives alongside more traditional crops.
- More than 400 machines and tools from more than 100 real agricultural brands.
- Single-player and cooperative multiplayer gameplay.
- Free community-created content through the in-game ModHub.
GIANTS Software provides a fuller overview of the game’s farming, machinery, multiplayer, production, seasonal, and ModHub systems on its official Farming Simulator 22 page.
The game is built around long-term farm management, equipment operation, logistics, and planning. It is a good fit for players who enjoy methodical simulation and gradual expansion, but it is not designed as a short arcade-style experience.
What did “free” mean?
“Free” meant free to claim during the promotion and keep in the Epic Games library afterward. It did not mean that Farming Simulator 22 became a permanently free-to-play game for anyone who arrived later.
Epic’s support documentation says that weekly games remain available in the library after they have been claimed. In practical terms, the important step was adding the game to the correct Epic account before May 30, 2024. You did not have to download the entire game during the giveaway period.
Epic describes the result as a permanent library entitlement, while its Epic Games Store EULA describes software access as a license rather than ownership of the software itself. The safest wording is that a successful claimant retains the license in their Epic library.
Can you still claim Farming Simulator 22 for free?
No—not through the expired 2024 giveaway. Epic’s support page explains that free-game promotions are available only for the stated claim period. A user who did not add Farming Simulator 22 to an Epic account by the deadline cannot retroactively claim that offer.
As of August 10, 2026, the U.S. Epic product page lists the Windows base game at $29.99. Prices can differ by region, taxes, and later discounts, so check the live listing for the price in your country.

- Use and drive over 100 faithfully reproduced farming vehicles and tools including, for the first time on Nintendo Switch, the largest agriculture machinery Company in the world: John deere
- tend to your livestock, including pigs, cows, sheep, and horses
- ride your own horses and explore the vast areas offered in a new North American open world loaded with farming activities
Latecomers have three legitimate options:
- Buy the base game from Epic Games Store or another authorized PC retailer.
- Wait for a future sale or another authorized discount.
- Consider Farming Simulator 25, the newer mainline entry, which became available on November 12, 2024, according to GIANTS Software’s press information.
Be cautious of websites promising “free” Epic keys, cracked downloads, or account access. Those offers are not the expired Epic promotion and may expose you to malware, stolen accounts, or invalid keys.
How previous claimers install it now
If you claimed the game during the May 23–30, 2024 window, you can install it whenever you want from the Epic Games Launcher:
- Install or open the Epic Games Launcher.
- Sign in to the Epic account used to claim the giveaway.
- Open Library.
- Find Farming Simulator 22.
- Select the game, choose an installation directory, and click Install.
- Wait for the download and installation to finish, then launch the game.
Epic’s installation instructions describe the same Library-to-Install process. The game may require approximately 35 GB of storage, before allowing for updates, saved data, or additional mod content.
What if Farming Simulator 22 is missing from your Epic library?
The most common explanation is that the game was claimed on a different Epic account. Epic notes that accounts can look identical when different sign-in methods are used. For example, signing in directly with a Gmail address is not necessarily the same as selecting the “Sign in with Google” option. A console-linked Epic account can also be separate from a standalone Epic account.
Try this sequence:
- Sign out of the Epic Games Launcher completely.
- Sign back in using the exact email address and login method you used in May 2024.
- Check the account’s transaction history and search your email for an Epic claim receipt or confirmation.
- Review any Epic accounts linked to your Google, PlayStation, Xbox, or other accounts.
- If you still cannot locate the claim, contact Epic Player Support with the relevant account and transaction information.
Do not purchase the game again until you have checked every likely Epic account. A missing installation is different from a missing entitlement: if the game is present in the correct Library, you only need to install it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIs the Epic giveaway available on console or Mac?
The Epic giveaway was for the Windows PC version. It did not provide a PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo entitlement, and an Epic Windows license should not be assumed to unlock a separate Steam, Mac, PlayStation, or Xbox copy.
Farming Simulator 22 does exist on other platforms, including macOS, but GIANTS Software lists those versions separately. The Epic product page identifies the Epic store product as Windows, while GIANTS provides separate platform information on its own site.
Multiplayer also has practical version considerations. Players should use compatible game versions and compatible mods; not every mod or DLC combination is guaranteed to work across every platform.
Was all Farming Simulator 22 DLC included?
No evidence supports calling the Epic promotion an all-DLC, Premium Edition, or Platinum Edition giveaway. The Epic listing identifies the product as the Base Game. Farming Simulator 22 expansions, season passes, equipment packs, and other add-ons are listed separately in the Epic Farming Simulator 22 DLC catalog.

- Premium Expansion.
- Year 1 and Year 2 Season Passes.
- Farm Production Pack.
- Kubota Pack.
- CLAAS XERION SADDLE TRAC Pack.
- Various other equipment packs.
The catalog currently marks the AGI Pack as free, but that is a separate add-on and does not make the base game free. Also, the current product description displays CLAAS XERION SADDLE TRAC-related content while the DLC catalog lists that pack separately. The surviving public evidence does not provide an itemized entitlement record from the 2024 checkout, so it would be inaccurate to claim that the CLAAS pack was included in every giveaway copy.

The reliable conclusion is simple: the promotion gave away the Windows base game, not a confirmed complete collection of every Farming Simulator 22 expansion and equipment pack.

Epic lists the following Windows requirements:
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 Home, 64-bit | Windows 10 Home, 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-3330 or AMD FX-8320 | Intel Core i5-5675C or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Storage | 35 GB | 35 GB |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
| Graphics | GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon R7 265, with at least 2 GB VRAM | GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 570, with at least 6 GB VRAM |
The game requires a 64-bit operating system, and online features require broadband internet. These specifications are a baseline rather than a guarantee of identical performance on every map, graphics setting, mod collection, or multiplayer session. Epic also cautions that published requirements cannot account for every possible PC configuration.
Do you need an Epic subscription or 2FA?
An Epic Games account is required for the Epic version. There is no evidence that the May 2024 giveaway required a subscription such as Fortnite Crew, Amazon Prime, or another separate gaming membership. It was part of Epic’s standard free-game program.
Epic’s current instructions for weekly free games say that two-factor authentication must be enabled to claim current giveaways. Because that requirement is documented in current support guidance rather than the surviving May 2024 announcement, it should not be presented as a specifically archived condition of the Farming Simulator 22 promotion. It is nevertheless sensible to enable 2FA on any Epic account for security and to follow the requirements shown for a live promotion.
What to do when an Epic free-game claim fails
General Epic troubleshooting can help with a current free-game claim, but none of these steps can restore the expired Farming Simulator 22 offer. For active promotions, Epic recommends:
- Disabling a VPN.
- Trying a mobile-data connection instead of Wi-Fi.
- Waiting at least 24 hours if the account has temporarily been blocked from claiming more free games.
Those steps are relevant only when an offer is still active. For Farming Simulator 22, the key question is whether the license was added to the account before May 30, 2024. If it was, look for the title in Library; if it was not, the current solution is purchase or a future authorized discount.

Frequently Asked Questions
I claimed Farming Simulator 22 but never downloaded it. Did I lose it?
No. Downloading was not the important deadline. If you added the game to the correct Epic account before May 30, 2024, it should remain available in that account’s Library for installation later.
Why can’t I find Farming Simulator 22 in my Epic library?
Check that you are using the same Epic account and sign-in method used during the giveaway. Direct Gmail sign-in and the Google login button can lead to different Epic accounts, and a console-linked account may also be separate. Check transaction history and linked accounts before contacting Epic Support.
Does the Epic copy unlock Farming Simulator 22 on PlayStation, Xbox, Mac, or Steam?
No. The Epic giveaway was the Windows PC product. It does not automatically provide a separate console, Mac, or Steam entitlement.
Did the free Epic copy include the Premium or Platinum expansions?
The Epic listing identifies the giveaway product as the Base Game. Farming Simulator 22 expansions, season passes, and equipment packs are separate products; the promotion should not be described as an all-DLC bundle.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Farming Simulator 22 really was free on the Epic Games Store, but only from May 23 through May 30, 2024. Claimers retained the Windows base-game license in their Epic libraries. As of August 10, 2026, latecomers cannot claim the expired giveaway and should expect to buy the game or wait for another legitimate discount.
