It is no longer awaiting release. Koei Tecmo’s official announcements confirm the date, but do not specify an exact launch hour, time zone, or regional unlock schedule—so there is no verified start time to count down to.
Release date and current status
Koei Tecmo announced March 12, 2026 as the global release date, then confirmed on launch day that the game had launched. The date has passed, so countdowns based on an upcoming release are outdated. Koei Tecmo America’s release announcement and its launch-day notice establish those details.
Exact start time: what is confirmed?
The official announcements give the release date, not an exact unlock time. They do not state an hour, time zone, or separate schedule by region or platform. The date alone is not enough to calculate a reliable local start time, so any precise hour presented without another official schedule would be unverified.
Platforms
The remake is listed for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam. Koei Tecmo’s Europe release announcement confirms the date and platform list.

What kind of remake is it?
Koei Tecmo describes the game as a complete remake of the second FATAL FRAME entry, with improved graphics and audio and changes to gameplay systems and controls. The story follows twin sisters Mio and Mayu in a village infested with wraiths; the Camera Obscura is central to defending against them. The official game page outlines the remake, while the release-date announcement trailer introduces its premise.
Additional DLC availability
Koei Tecmo’s official game page states that Silent Hill f collaboration DLC became available on March 27, 2026. That date concerns the collaboration DLC, not the game’s launch time.
