If an FC Ultimate Team Squad Building Challenge (SBC) will not submit, first check that the challenge is still active and that your squad meets its current on-screen requirements. If both check out, try the same submission in another supported surface—the game, EA SPORTS FC Web App, or Companion App—to see whether the failure is limited to one interface. A failed message by itself does not identify the cause.
Why can’t I submit my SBC?
The most directly verifiable reasons to check are an unmet challenge requirement or an expired SBC. EA says FC 26 challenges can require a particular Squad Rating, Chemistry, Player Quality, League, Nation, or Club combination, and an expired challenge no longer accepts a squad. Check the exact challenge rather than relying on an older solution or remembered requirements: EA’s SBC guidance.
- Requirement mismatch: Compare the squad against every condition currently displayed on the challenge.
- Expired challenge: Check the SBC’s availability and expiry time; an expired challenge cannot be submitted.
- Interface-specific failure: If the same challenge and squad work elsewhere, the issue may be limited to the surface where submission failed. That comparison is a diagnostic, not a guaranteed fix.
Connection trouble is another possibility to investigate if the failure persists, but EA’s general connection resources do not establish connectivity as the cause of every SBC submission error or provide an SBC-specific fix. The available evidence also does not confirm a particular soft ban, account restriction, rate limit, duplication conflict, stale squad cache, or server bug as the explanation for a generic failure message.
How to troubleshoot a failed SBC submission
1. Recheck the challenge and squad
- Open the specific SBC and review its current requirements and expiry time.
- Compare the selected squad with every displayed condition, including rating, chemistry, quality, league, nation, and club requirements where applicable.
- Replace only items that fail a stated condition, then check the full squad against the challenge again before submitting.
Requirements can differ between challenges and may change when a challenge expires or is replaced. Use what the active SBC displays, not a saved image or solution for a previous challenge.

2. Confirm every item you are exchanging
Inspect each selected Player Item and the reward before submitting, including when a submission is part of a multi-part SBC. EA warns that submissions are final: items submitted to an SBC are permanently removed from your Club, including items used as partial progress, and EA Advisors cannot restore them. Read EA’s explanation of SBCs and submission consequences before confirming.
3. Try another supported submission surface
If submission fails in the game, try the same SBC through the EA SPORTS FC Web App or Companion App. If an app fails, try the game instead. EA forum guidance has suggested testing all three, and players have reported a case where submission worked in the companion or web app but failed in-game. Those reports are anecdotal and come from FC 24-era discussions; they do not establish how often this happens or guarantee that switching surfaces will fix an FC 26 problem.

Players have used phrases such as “Failed to Submit Challenge,” “failed to complete challenge,” “Can’t submit SBC,” and “failed to connect to Ultimate Team” in forum reports. These are reported phrasings, not a confirmed exhaustive list of current FC 26 messages. The wording alone does not establish whether the squad, challenge availability, interface, connection, or another factor caused the failure.

For example, an EA forum thread titled “Failed to Submit Challenge” when completing an SBC includes advice to try the game, Web App, and Companion App. Another FC 24-era report, dated 2024-01-26, describes a submission failing in-game but succeeding through companion and web apps: “Can’t submit SBC”. These examples support testing another surface, not assuming that all current failures have the same cause.
