Living Memory has 10 field Aether Currents and five quest currents. Collect the field currents as you explore, complete the four level 90 sidequests as they become available, and finish the zone’s main-scenario quest for the final current. The coordinates below use the in-game map’s X/Y display; story progress opens sectors, so not every point is reachable on your first visit.
How Living Memory flight unlocks
In Square Enix’s Patch 7.0 notes, the general rule is that meeting an area’s Aether Current requirement unlocks flight there. Living Memory’s checklist consists of 10 field currents and five currents earned from quests. Follow the main scenario to open the zone’s sectors and quest chains; a listed coordinate does not mean the location is accessible immediately.
Living Memory field Aether Current coordinates
Use these map coordinates as navigation points. Z values are included where the coordinate reference provides them; the map’s X/Y position is the primary locator.
- X:7.5, Y:30.9, Z:0.2 — Center of the gazebo at the square.
- X:36.5, Y:28.4, Z:0.6 — By the right-hand castle stairs.
- X:11.1, Y:35.1, Z:0.2 — By the gondolas.
- X:26.1, Y:32.3, Z:0.2 — Canal Town area.
- X:33.9, Y:34.2, Z:0.2 — Behind the ticketing booth at the Ferris wheel.
- X:31.6, Y:8.4, Z:0.5 — Asyle Volcane area.
- X:10.2, Y:11.3, Z:0.1 — Top corner of the museum balcony.
- X:37.7, Y:10.7, Z:0.6 — Eastern/northern sector area.
- X:24.8, Y:15.3, Z:0.4 — Near the lava river.
- X:11.8, Y:20.4, Z:0.5 — Behind an electrope tree.
The zone is grouped into Canal Town, Asyle Volcane, Meso Terminal, and Windspath Gardens. You begin in the south and open other islands sequentially, so use the story route and map markers to reach points in later sectors rather than trying to collect all ten at once.

Quest Aether Currents and story gates
These five currents come from quests rather than field pickups. The first four are level 90 sidequests that open along the main story; the last is a level 100 Dawntrail main-scenario quest reward. Quest names and prerequisites are from community-maintained guides; selected quest locations and rewards are also confirmed in the Lodestone Eorzea Database, Lodestone Eorzea Database, and Lodestone Eorzea Database.
- Well-wishing at the Wishing Well — Quest giver at X:8.7, Y:31.4, Z:0.2. Available after In Serenity and Sorrow.
- Perplexing Puzzles, Endless Fun — X:30.9, Y:35.6, Z:0.1. Available after A Knight of Alexandria.
- Volcanic Disruptions — Quest giver at X:34.0, Y:15.8, Z:0.4. Available after Leafing through the Past. The Lodestone lists it as a level 90 Unlost World sidequest and confirms its Aether Current reward.
- Blueprint Protocol — Available after Leafing through the Past. The guide’s quest/current point is X:32.2, Y:17.6, Z:0.4; the Lodestone’s NPC coordinate differs slightly. Follow the in-game quest marker. Lodestone lists it as a level 90 Unlost World sidequest with an Aether Current reward.
- A Journey Never-ending — X:11.0, Y:12.5. This level 100 Dawntrail main-scenario quest awards an Aether Current; the Lodestone also confirms its location and reward.
Square Enix notes that Patch 7.0 notes may omit quests in a chain to avoid spoilers, so use the prerequisite names and the in-game quest marker to identify when each sidequest is available.
