To unlock the first Echoes of Vana’diel raid, reach level 100 as a Disciple of War or Magic, complete the Dawntrail main scenario, then accept An Otherworldly Encounter from the Hoobigo messenger in Tuliyollal at X:13.0, Y:11.6. Jeuno: The First Walk also requires an average item level of 695 to enter. Windurst: The Third Walk has a separate unlock quest and prerequisite: complete Apocalypse Nigh before starting The Hollow Promise.
Unlock Jeuno: The First Walk
- Reach level 100 on a Disciple of War or Magic.
- Complete the Dawntrail main scenario. Square Enix’s Patch 7.1 notes say players must first complete the main scenario quest “Dawntrail”: Patch 7.1 notes.
- Accept An Otherworldly Encounter. Find the Hoobigo messenger in Tuliyollal at X:13.0, Y:11.6. The quest is listed in the official Eorzea Database.
- Meet the duty’s item-level requirement. Jeuno: The First Walk requires an average item level of 695 to enter. The Eorzea Database lists the duty as level 100, with 24-player alliance registration and a 120-minute time limit: Jeuno: The First Walk duty listing.
The Dawntrail prerequisite is for the first raid’s unlock; Apocalypse Nigh is not listed as a requirement for Jeuno.

How to progress through the raid series
After Jeuno, continue the Chronicles of a New Era quests as they appear in your Journal and follow their quest markers. Official quest records place related steps in Lower Jeuno, Tuliyollal, and Shaaloani. For example, That World Was Called Vana’diel and Northward are listed in Lower Jeuno, with a follow-up in Shaaloani: official quest database.
Those records establish that the story moves between areas, but do not provide a complete walkthrough of every handoff. Use the Journal and map markers for your next step rather than assuming every quest begins in the same location.

Unlock Windurst: The Third Walk
- Complete Apocalypse Nigh. This is the separate Chronicles of a New Era prerequisite for the third raid.
- Find the Landsguard Messenger in Tuliyollal at X:16.2, Y:3.9.
- Accept The Hollow Promise and follow its quest markers. Square Enix’s Patch 7.5 notes list the level 100 quest and its Apocalypse Nigh prerequisite: Patch 7.5 notes.
Weekly rewards for Windurst
As stated in Square Enix’s Patch 7.5 notes, completing Windurst: The Third Walk grants one loot item per week. Its separate weekly completion reward is two Cracked Novaclusters and one Ranperre Coin. These are distinct limits and rewards; the one-item loot restriction does not replace the completion reward.
Duty requirements and weekly reward rules can change in later patches. The cited duty information reflects the Eorzea Database at Patch 7.56; check the current duty entry and patch notes if you are using this guide after that version.
