What does Streamlined Progression do?
Square Enix’s Xbox and Switch 2 announcement describes optional combat adjustments under the name “Streamlined Progression.” These include unlimited HP and MP and 9,999 damage, letting players reduce combat difficulty and focus more on the story. The settings are optional, not required to play.
Is the Switch 2 physical bonus still available?
At launch, Square Enix announced a Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Play Booster with the first-production-run Switch 2 physical edition, while supplies lasted. Its North American announcement also described a physical-edition preorder bonus, likewise while supplies lasted. Is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on these platforms too?
Yes. FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH, the second game in the remake project, launched on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on June 3, 2026. Square Enix also announced availability on Xbox on PC. Its June 5 announcement says the first two games of the remake project were then available across modern platforms. That is separate from REMAKE INTERGRADE; the two games are distinct releases. When is the third remake game coming?
Square Enix said the third part of the trilogy was in production, describing it as “currently being diligently produced as the culmination of the series.” The cited announcement did not give a release date, so there is no confirmed date to report for that installment.
