Spoilers for Final Fantasy VII Remake: Jessie is presumed dead after the Sector 7 plate collapse. There is no choice, side quest, or item that lets you save her in Remake. The game’s closing imagery may invite questions, but it does not confirm a rescue or give players a way to change her fate.
What happens to Jessie in Final Fantasy VII Remake?
Jessie is an Avalanche member who helps prepare supplies for the group’s operations, including bombs and forged IDs, according to Square Enix’s character profile. After the Sector 7 plate collapses, the game treats her as lost. A September 24, 2026 GamesRadar report quotes her English voice actor, Erica Lindbeck, describing her reaction to Jessie’s fate; the report characterizes Jessie as dying in Remake (GamesRadar).

Can you save Jessie or change the outcome?
No. Final Fantasy VII Remake does not offer a gameplay decision, optional mission, or item that saves Jessie. The outcome is part of the story rather than a branch the player can unlock, so replaying a chapter or completing extra content will not provide a rescue route.
Do the ending or later games confirm that Jessie survived?
The ending’s imagery can fuel speculation, but it does not establish that Jessie was rescued in Remake. It is important to distinguish that game’s outcome from questions prompted by later entries or story material.

Square Enix describes Final Fantasy VII Remake as the first standalone entry in the remake project, covering the party’s escape from Midgar, and presents Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as the next story after they leave the city (Remake overview; Rebirth overview). Those official overviews do not explain every Jessie-related image or establish that a later appearance proves she survived in Remake’s main sequence. Treat interpretations of those scenes as unresolved rather than confirmed canon.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is the enhanced edition of Remake. It includes FF7R Episode INTERmission, a Yuffie-led story episode; Square Enix’s page also provides platform and upgrade information (Intergrade edition details). Choose it if you want to play the game and its additional episode, not to alter Jessie’s fate.
