The Pixel Remasters cover all six of the first numbered Final Fantasy games; the two Mana releases are different kinds of RPG, and the Game Pass status of the Mana titles should be checked in the live regional Xbox Store catalog.
Which games came to Xbox, and when?
Square Enix announced the releases during the Xbox Games Showcase at Tokyo Game Show on September 26, 2024, and said all three were available digitally that day for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. Square Enix’s announcement and Xbox Wire’s launch coverage document the launch.
The announcement also listed other platforms for individual games, but this release brought them to Xbox and Windows PC. Windows PC is an alternative to an Xbox console; the announcement does not establish a required accessory or physical Xbox edition.
Does Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster include all six games?
Yes. The series contains Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy VI. On Xbox, Square Enix says the games can be purchased individually or together as a complete bundle. Current prices and discounts depend on the reader’s Store region and are not established by the 2024 announcement.
#1 Best Overall
- Remaster of the original CRISIS CORE - FINAL FANTASY VII-, featuring a complete HD graphics overhaul, a remastered soundtrack, a reimagined UI, and an updated combat system.
- The story begins seven years before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII (1997) and follows Zack Fair, a young and ambitious Shinra SOLDIER operative. Zack is tasked with tracking down a missing SOLDIER 1st Class operative named Genesis Rhapsodos.
- But as his adventure unfolds, he discovers the dark secrets of Shinra's experiments and the monsters they create. The game features a number of characters from the FINAL FANTASY VII franchise such as Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith and others.
What features can players adjust?
The remasters retain the original games’ retro presentation while adding options intended to make them more flexible to play. Square Enix lists rearranged or original-based soundtracks, a default or pixel-based font, the ability to turn off random encounters, and experience multipliers from 0 to 4. Xbox Wire also notes auto-battle. These are publisher-described features, not a claim based on comparative testing.
What is Legend of Mana?
Legend of Mana is a remastered edition of the fourth Mana entry. Its unusual structure starts with an empty world map: as the player finds artifacts, they place them to reveal towns and dungeons through the Land Creation system. That makes building out the world part of the game’s progression rather than simply following a fixed map.

- Final Fantasy X/X-2: HD Remaster - [Edition: Spain]
The remaster includes updated visuals, rearranged music with an option to use the original soundtrack, encounter controls and the Ring Ring Land mini game. Xbox Wire describes redrawn backgrounds and up to 68 quests. See the Square Enix launch announcement and Xbox Wire article for the publisher’s feature descriptions.
What is Trials of Mana?
Trials of Mana is a full high-definition remake of the third Mana entry, first released in Japan in 1995 as Seiken Densetsu 3. Players choose a party of three from six characters. Character classes, upgrades and more than 300 abilities shape party development, while the remake presents the adventure with 3D graphics and action combat.

| Game | Structure | Combat and progression |
|---|---|---|
| Legend of Mana | Quest-based, free-form progression; place artifacts to reveal locations on the world map. | Its defining feature in the source descriptions is Land Creation; those descriptions do not characterize it as the same kind of 3D action remake as Trials. |
| Trials of Mana | Build a party by selecting three of six characters. | 3D action combat, character classes and ability development. |
In short, Legend of Mana emphasizes shaping the world and pursuing quests in a less linear structure. Trials of Mana emphasizes a chosen party and action combat. This comparison follows publisher and Store descriptions rather than hands-on testing.

Are Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana on Game Pass?
At launch in September 2024, Square Enix and Xbox Wire said both Mana games would be available with Xbox Game Pass. That is a historical launch statement, not proof that either title remains in the subscription catalog today.
The US Xbox Store pages currently describe both games as cloud playable with Game Pass Premium and Ultimate, and say purchase is required to stream with Game Pass Essential. Those cloud-play details do not by themselves establish catalog access for every subscriber. Catalog membership, cloud rights and plan terms can vary by date and region, so check the live listing for your region before subscribing or relying on access. The Store pages are Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana.
