You can reduce some of MAI’s repeated guidance in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but there is no verified in-game switch that silences all Chadley and MAI dialogue. Set Gameplay > Completed Assignment Guidance to No to stop repeated guidance for assignments you have already completed. On PS5, you can also route transmission dialogue to the controller speaker and lower its volume; PC players have community mods with varying coverage.
Reduce MAI’s repeated guidance with an in-game setting
- Open the game’s Gameplay settings.
- Scroll near the bottom of the list to Completed Assignment Guidance.
- Set it to No.
This setting reduces MAI’s guidance for assignments you have already completed. It does not turn off all of MAI’s lines or mute Chadley. The setting and its reported behavior are described in GINX’s guide to turning off MAI in combat and discussed by players; Square Enix’s available update notice does not document this specific control.

On PS5, route transmission dialogue to the controller
- In the game’s audio options, change Transmission Dialogue Playback Device to Controller.
- Lower the controller speaker volume in PS5 settings.
This is an audio-routing workaround, not a dialogue mute: transmissions still play through the controller, and subtitles can remain visible. GINX describes this approach, but it should not be treated as a way to suppress every line, scene, or sound effect.
On PC, consider community mods
Community-created mods can mute more lines than the built-in setting, but their coverage is specific to the mod and may change with game updates. These are PC options, not PS5 installations.

The first mod’s listing describes installation into the game’s ~mods folder and labels it compatible with the latest game version listed there. Check the listing’s current instructions and compatibility notes before installing: mod support can become stale as the game changes, and neither option is an official Square Enix feature.

Which option should you use?
- Want fewer repeated MAI prompts without mods? Set Completed Assignment Guidance to No.
- Want transmissions less prominent on PS5? Route them to the controller and lower the controller speaker volume, knowing the lines still play.
- Playing on PC and want broader muting? Compare the mods’ exclusions and compatibility notes; neither listing promises a universal mute.
