When did Final Fantasy VII Remake come to Xbox?

Xbox’s January 16, 2026 weekly release listing instead shows January 21. The pages do not explain the discrepancy; the dedicated announcement is the clearest source for the announced date. Which version is on Xbox, and what does it include?
The Xbox release is FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE, not a separate new story chapter. It bundles the main remake with FF7R Episode INTERmission, a two-chapter side story starring Yuffie Kisaragi. Her mission takes place in Midgar alongside Cloud’s journey, offering a parallel perspective on events.

The main game reimagines and expands the Midgar section of the 1997 FINAL FANTASY VII. Its story follows Cloud and the party through their escape from the city. The remake is the first entry in a series of full-length RPGs, so Intergrade does not contain the complete original game’s story or the entire remake series.
Can you play it on Xbox Series S or PC?
Yes. Xbox announced the game for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Microsoft Store. Xbox also identifies it as Xbox Play Anywhere, saying players can continue progress across console, PC and ROG Ally. The announcement describes cross-device progress, but does not provide regional availability or a current storefront inventory breakdown.
What kind of game is it?
It is a story-driven role-playing game with combat that combines real-time action and strategic, command-based choices. The Xbox release brings the first entry in the remake series to another platform; the “finally” in the headline refers to that platform availability, not a newly announced continuation of the story.
