As of October 30, 2026, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. It joined the catalog on October 29, 2026, separate from the game’s January 22, 2026 Xbox retail release. On Xbox Series X|S or a Windows PC, sign in to the account with an eligible plan, open the Game Pass listing and choose the installation control shown for that account. Cloud play is the no-download option.
Intergrade contains the complete remake and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the Yuffie episode. The steps below explain each supported route, what to do when Xbox displays a purchase prompt, and why an Xbox One console cannot install the Series X|S version locally.

What changed on October 29, 2026?
October 29 is the Game Pass catalog date, not the date Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade first appeared on Xbox. The game’s initial Xbox release was January 22, 2026. That distinction matters when you see older store pages, launch coverage or purchase guides that predate its Game Pass inclusion.
Xbox’s October 20, 2026 Game Pass announcement names Intergrade for Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. The catalog entry covers Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and cloud play, but those routes are not interchangeable: a console installation, PC installation and streamed session each depend on a different device and entitlement check. Intergrade is the standard package to look for. It includes the main remake and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the Yuffie-focused episode. The Digital Deluxe Edition is a separate store product, and you do not need to buy it, or buy Intermission separately, to receive the content attached to the Game Pass listing.
What do I need before installing?
You need an Xbox account, an eligible subscription, and a supported way to play. Xbox’s dated announcement names Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass for this title; Essential is not listed as an included-game tier. A cloud-capability message by itself is not proof that your account has a license for this game.
- Xbox Series X|S: local installation is supported.
- Windows PC: local installation uses the Xbox PC app.
- Cloud: streaming is listed separately and does not require a local game download.
- Xbox One: the Series X|S game is not documented for local installation. Cloud play may be available on a supported Xbox One setup.
Keep the Xbox account that owns the subscription signed in throughout the entitlement check. On PC, install the Xbox app for Windows and make sure Windows 10 or Windows 11 version 22H2 or later is installed. Xbox warns that system requirements vary by game, so the app requirement is not a guarantee that every PC can run Intergrade. Check the current game’s requirements and available disk space in the listing.
Before starting, decide whether you want a local copy or a streamed session. Local installation needs enough free space and a completed download, while cloud play needs a supported device, controller and high-speed connection. Neither option changes the Intergrade content included with the entitlement.

How do I install Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Xbox Series X|S?
Use the account with Game Pass Ultimate or Premium, then install from the title’s Game Pass listing. The exact button wording can vary between the console’s Game Pass and Store views, so follow the installation control Xbox presents rather than relying on a particular label.

On PC, installation is handled by the Xbox app for Windows. The app requires Windows 10 or 11 version 22H2 or higher, while the game’s own hardware requirements can be different.
- Install or update the Xbox app for Windows from Microsoft’s official Xbox app page.
- Launch the app and sign in with the Microsoft account that has PC Game Pass, Ultimate or Premium access.
- Search the Game Pass library for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, or browse to its current listing.
- Open the listing and review the displayed PC requirements and free-space requirement for your system.

Can I play without downloading?
Yes. Xbox lists Intergrade for cloud play, so you can stream it instead of installing the Series X|S or PC files when the play option is available to your signed-in account.
- Open Xbox’s cloud-gaming route or the Xbox app on a supported device.
- Sign in with the account that has the eligible Game Pass entitlement.
- Find Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and select the cloud-play option shown for your account.
- Connect a compatible controller and use a stable, high-speed internet connection.
Cloud availability is account-, device- and region-dependent. It is a streamed session, not a local installation, and the same title may show different controls on different storefront views. A compatible controller can be useful if your device does not already have one; no controller purchase is required for every setup.
Cloud is also the practical route for a supported Xbox One setup because Xbox does not document a local Xbox One installation. It does not convert the Series X|S build into an Xbox One download; the game is still being streamed from Microsoft’s service.

Which Game Pass plan and platform combination works?

Game Pass or a purchase: which version should I choose?
Game Pass is the straightforward choice if you want to play while the title is included and you already maintain an eligible subscription. A purchase makes sense only if you want ownership independent of the catalog and are satisfied with the edition and platform shown by the store. The available information does not establish a current purchase price, so check the live store page rather than relying on an old guide.
Do not choose Digital Deluxe merely to obtain Intermission. The standard Intergrade Game Pass content already includes the Yuffie episode. Why does Xbox ask me to buy it?
A purchase prompt does not automatically mean that Intergrade is absent from Game Pass. Retrieved Xbox store views have shown conflicting text: one view required a purchase for cloud use, while another displayed inclusion for Premium and Ultimate. Xbox’s dated, game-specific announcement explicitly names the Game Pass tiers, so start with that entitlement and then verify the live listing for your account.
Work through these checks before paying:
- Confirm that you are signed in to the Microsoft account holding Ultimate, Premium or PC Game Pass.
- Check that you searched for the complete Intergrade title rather than a related edition, add-on or platform listing.
- Check the platform: PC Game Pass applies to the Windows PC route, while local console installation is for Xbox Series X|S.
- Close and reopen the Xbox app or Store, then refresh the listing if the subscription status was changed recently.

Can I install it on Xbox One?

Is the Yuffie episode included?
Yes. The standard Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade listing includes the full remake and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the Yuffie-focused episode. Game Pass readers should not purchase the episode as a separate requirement.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is a separate store edition. Its existence does not make it necessary to obtain the Intermission content included with the standard Intergrade Game Pass release.
Should I use the demo first?
No. The demo is optional and is not a prerequisite for installing or launching the Game Pass game.
Square Enix says demo save data can transfer to the full game, except when a full-game save has already been created. - Search the complete title, including “Intergrade.”
- Verify the account and subscription tier.

Cloud play is unavailable
Check that the account has the necessary entitlement, the device is supported, a compatible controller is connected and the network is suitable. Cloud availability can differ from local-install availability and can change with the live catalog.
The wrong edition opens
Return to the listing and verify the full title and platform labels. Intergrade is the package that includes Intermission; a similarly named add-on or Digital Deluxe page may present different controls without changing your Game Pass entitlement.
