Yes. FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION, the third and final entry in Square Enix’s Remake Series, is confirmed for PS5 on April 8, 2027. Square Enix has also announced a simultaneous Spring 2027 launch for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC, so the finale is not a PS5 exclusive.
When does Final Fantasy VII Revelation come out on PS5?
PlayStation confirmed the PS5 release date as April 8, 2027 in its September 3, 2026 announcement. PlayStation says preorders are live on PlayStation Store. This is the confirmed PS5 date; Square Enix’s earlier announcement described the broader launch window as Spring 2027.

The April 8 date is specifically confirmed by PlayStation for PS5. Square Enix’s platform announcement gives the other listed platforms the Spring 2027 window, rather than a separate exact date for each. Neither announcement establishes whether regional stores or individual SKUs will differ.
What is the story and how does it play?
Square Enix’s description places Cloud and his companions in conflict with Sephiroth as Meteor threatens the planet and the Weapons emerge. The party can explore the planet freely aboard the Highwind. Combat combines real-time action with Tactical Mode, which lets players shift the pace and approach of a fight.

Newly highlighted gameplay details
PlayStation’s later gameplay announcement spotlights Piko as a companion for traversal and battles, dynamic character switching, and a grappling gun. It also describes a Queen’s Blood campaign centered on Red XIII. These are details highlighted in the announcement, not a complete specification of every system in the game.

GamesRadar, reporting on director Naoki Hamaguchi’s interview with Radio Times, says the physical edition includes one disc with the opening portion of the game and requires an internet download for the remainder. That format detail comes from interview-based secondary reporting, not an official product specification in the announcements cited here. If buying a disc, check the details for your region and exact SKU; do not assume the disc contains the complete playable game.

How to catch up on the Remake Series
The two earlier entries are FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE and FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH. Square Enix lists both across the expanded platform range announced for REVELATION. The publisher also says the first two titles have received over 140 perfect review scores combined; that is Square Enix’s figure, and its announcement does not enumerate the outlets or define the editions and scoring set.
