Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.2, titled Seekers of Eternity, adds a main-scenario chapter, the Recollection trial and the Arcadion: Cruiserweight Division raid, alongside job adjustments, a returning Frontline map and changes to crafting, housing and game systems. The Underkeep dungeon is also part of the 7.2 update. Several announced features—including Cosmic Exploration—were scheduled for later patches, not 7.2.
What is included in Patch 7.2?
Square Enix’s official Patch 7.2 Notes, updated April 1, 2025, describe Seekers of Eternity as a continuation of the story after the Warrior of Light encounters the returned Queen of Reason, as unrest grows in Alexandria. The notes introduce the Recollection trial and the Arcadion: Cruiserweight Division raid. The official patch announcement also previews The Underkeep dungeon.

The official notes specify that the Cruiserweight Tier awards one token per match each week, while entry to the tier itself has no weekly restriction. They list the eligibility reset as Tuesday at 1:00 a.m. PDT (8:00 GMT / 19:00 AEDT). These are patch-note rules and times; check the live game notes for current details.

How did Patch 7.2 change combat and PvP?
Job actions
The patch makes action-by-action adjustments to jobs at level 100, including potency and area-of-effect behavior. The changes are not a uniform buff or nerf across all jobs. For a specific rotation or job, use the relevant job section in the official notes rather than relying on a high-level summary.

Crafting and gathering
- The crafting log can select required materials in batches by quality.
- Master crafting recipes no longer have level requirements.
- The desynthesis level cap rises from 720 to 740.
Housing and graphics
An option lets players disable screen-space ambient occlusion (SSAO) for indoor furnishings. The graphical update also adjusts player-character models and shadow quality.

Group Pose camera controls
Group Pose adds depth-of-field f-values from 0.5 through 1.2, changes the default from f/5.6 to f/2.5, and expands the manual-focus focal-length range from 0–100 to 0–400. These are the settings listed in the patch notes.
What other system changes are in 7.2?
- A Field Operations category is added to the challenge log.
- Wondrous Tails and Faux Hollows receive changes.
- Duty Support receives additions.
- Mounts can be summoned while moving.
- After Sprint expires, its post-effect behavior grants Jog.
Do you need Dawntrail to access Patch 7.2 content?
Expansion registration requirements vary by feature. The official notes mark some additions as requiring Dawntrail; that does not mean every Patch 7.2 addition requires the expansion. Check the access requirement shown beside the specific feature in the official Patch 7.2 Notes for your account and platform.
