FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 7.2, officially titled Seekers of Eternity, launched on March 25, 2025. Its release added a new main-scenario chapter, dungeon, raid tier and trials; the Arcadion: Cruiserweight Savage raids opened a week later, while several other features arrived in later 7.2x updates.
What is Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.2 called?
Square Enix named the update Seekers of Eternity. Its story follows the Warrior of Light after the returned Queen of Reason delivers a promise of eternal life to Alexandria, a message that deepens unrest among its people. The official Patch 7.2 promotional site frames the central conflict around those who find solace in becoming Endless and those who fear death’s approach.

Do you need Dawntrail to access Patch 7.2?
Not every change in a game update has the same expansion requirement. The official patch notes flag content that requires registered expansion packs, including Dawntrail-specific activities. Check the requirement shown for the particular quest, dungeon, raid or other activity you want to play, and make sure the relevant expansion is registered to your service account. Patch 7.2 itself was a game update, not a separate physical item to buy.
