The trade-off is substantial for series veterans: the mainline series’ turn-based tradition gives way to timing, action, and ability selection. The combat’s spectacle is closely tied to the story’s Eikon conflicts, but the supplied evidence does not establish a comparative measure of depth or pacing. Whether the change is welcome depends partly on whether you want hands-on action or prefer battles built around turns and commands.
What is the story and setting?
The game takes place in Valisthea, a dark-fantasy world whose realms depend on Mothercrystals. A spreading Blight threatens that order. Clive Rosfield’s story is bound up with his brother Joshua and with the Eikons and their Dominants, connecting family drama to the world’s larger conflicts.
