Which Breath of the Wild map should you use?
The best choice depends on whether you need to locate a marker, solve a shrine, or keep track of what you have found. These resources offer different features; the information below describes what their pages advertise, not a guarantee that every entry is complete or accurate.

Find shrines by region—and account for hidden ones
A regional checklist can make shrine hunting easier because the Nintendo Life guide groups locations by Sheikah Tower map section. That gives you a practical way to focus on one area instead of scanning all of Hyrule at once. Its guide also notes that some shrines are hidden, so a location may not be obvious from simply exploring the map.
Check whether a shrine needs a quest or challenge
Some shrine locations involve more than reaching a point on the map. Nintendo Life’s entry for Ritaag Zumo, for example, says the shrine requires the “Into The Vortex” quest. Other entries describe environmental challenges. A map can point you toward a destination, but you may still need to meet the in-game condition or complete the associated quest to access the shrine.

Use item and weapon markers to narrow a search
Zelda Dungeon’s interactive map advertises markers for weapons, armor, items, treasure, shrines, and Korok Seeds. Select the relevant category when you are searching for a type of target rather than following a regional shrine list. The displayed categories are useful for deciding whether the map suits your task; they do not establish that every item or weapon location is included.
Track discoveries and use a map offline
The Breath Companion App Store listing describes search and filters, checklists, and databases covering weapons, bows, shields, armor, creatures, and materials. It states that map data works without an internet connection once downloaded. The listing also identifies the app as unofficial and says it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo.
For players who want a browser-based location map, start with Zelda Dungeon’s advertised marker categories. For shrine directions and quest context, use the regional guide. Choose Breath Companion if offline map data and checklists are useful to you.
