What kind of game is Final Fantasy Resonance?
The game rebuilds the first story arc of the discontinued mobile Final Fantasy Brave Exvius as a standalone HD-2D console and PC RPG. Its mobile-era gacha structure has been removed. Instead, the remake presents a fixed adventure with turn-based battles, optional challenges and a smaller, curated Vision system.
How does combat work?
Combat uses a turn timeline to determine who acts next. You exploit enemy weaknesses, build stagger gauges and choose when to unleash powerful Resonance attacks. The system is turn-based, but the timeline and stagger mechanics make turn order and target selection important rather than reducing battles to simple menu rotation.

What are Visions?
The remake includes 26 collectible Visions, compared with the hundreds associated with the mobile game. You obtain them through shrines and side quests, then develop them with magicite. That structure gives optional exploration a practical reward without requiring random pulls or gacha spending.
How is the presentation different?
GamesRadar praised the larger, more animated pixel presentation, dynamic camera angles and voice acting. The HD-2D style combines pixel characters and environments with modern lighting and depth effects. The review’s main visual reservation was that some computer-generated sequences can clash with the otherwise cohesive HD-2D look.
