Fivefold Bleed is an Inner Way in Where Winds Meet that adds a chance-based damage-over-time effect called Weeping Blood. To obtain its Tome, complete the Kaifeng Wandering Tale A Faltering Flame, then claim the reward in your Journal. Its damage payoff builds as you apply stacks, so it is most useful to players whose combat setup can land hits consistently.
How to get the Fivefold Bleed Tome
- Travel to the Grand Imperial Temple in Kaifeng, near the Fairgrounds area.
- Find the Lamp-lighting Monk in the building at the temple’s northeast corner and speak with him to start A Faltering Flame.
- Complete the quest’s three NPC-related puzzles. The guide’s walkthrough says these involve changing the in-game time.
- Open Journal → Wandering Tales and claim the Fivefold Bleed: Tome reward.
If the NPC, quest steps, or menu labels differ in your current game version, check the active quest details in your Journal. The acquisition route is reported by Game8’s Fivefold Bleed guide.
What Weeping Blood does
According to the guide’s description, dealing damage has a 10% chance to apply one Weeping Blood stack for five seconds. Each stack damages the target once per second. The effect can build to five stacks, and applying another stack refreshes its duration.
When the target reaches five stacks, Weeping Blood is removed and triggers one instance of piercing damage. In practical terms, the effect rewards repeated hits: each hit is another chance to build the damage-over-time effect toward its five-stack payoff. The reported values are guide-listed, not independently tested; check the current in-game tooltip for the values in your client.

Is Fivefold Bleed a good fit for your build?
Game8 describes Fivefold Bleed as a general-purpose Inner Way that can complement many builds. Gamer Guides specifically recommends it for a Strategic Sword build, but that is a guide’s suggested pairing—not proof that it is optimal for every character or encounter.
- Consider it if you want a passive damage effect and your combat style lands frequent hits that can build stacks.
- Compare it with other options if your setup applies hits slowly or you would rather prioritize a different effect. The reported 10% base chance means applications are not guaranteed.
- Do not assume a damage increase from the listed effects alone: no attributable performance testing establishes a specific DPS gain or a universal best build.
