Flask of Restless Dreams is a reusable, one-hour caster-and-healer flask in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery. It grants up to 30 spell damage, up to 45 healing, and 12 mana per five seconds—but only in areas under the influence of the nightmare. Characters need level 50 and Alchemy 250 to make it, and the recipe comes from the level-50 quest Waking the Nightmare.
What does Flask of Restless Dreams do?
The item listing describes the flask as granting up to 30 spell damage, up to 45 healing, and 12 mana per five seconds for one hour. Its restriction is important: the in-game description, as reproduced by the item reference, says, “The benefits of this flask only apply in areas under the influence of the nightmare.” It is not a general-purpose buff for all of Azeroth.
The item flavor text says, “No matter how much you drink, this flask never seems to run empty.” Item references describe it as reusable rather than consumed when used.
How do you learn the recipe?
- Reach level 50 and have Alchemy skill 250.
- Complete the level-50 quest Waking the Nightmare.
- Speak to the Shadowy Figure in Moonglade, who teaches the Flask of Restless Dreams recipe after the quest.
The flask itself is bind-on-pickup according to its item listing, so it cannot be traded to another character.

What materials does the recipe require?

The item references do not establish drop rates, prices, or whether the listed vendor stock is currently available on every server.
Where does the flask work?
The item’s own restriction is the best guide: the buff applies only in areas influenced by the nightmare. A player forum post from April 2024 reported that it worked in Sunken Temple, Nightmare Incursions, and the affected zones Swamp of Sorrows, Hinterlands, Feralas, and Ashenvale. Treat those locations as that player’s report, not as a current official list; the live effect should be confirmed in the area where you plan to use it.

Does it stack with Atal’ai Mojo of Forbidden Magic?
The available item and discussion references raise this as a player question but do not establish whether the effects stack. Do not assume they do; check the resulting character stats or test the combination in-game before relying on both buffs.

Its listed bonuses point to spellcasters and healers who are fighting in a qualifying nightmare-influenced area. It is reusable and lasts one hour, so its value depends on whether you will spend enough of that time in a location where the effect applies. It should not be selected on the assumption that it boosts physical damage or functions everywhere.
