In For The King II, revival works differently in combat and on the overworld. During a fight, a living party member can use the revive option; a Steam community reply reports that it costs a Primary Action. Outside combat, revival draws from the party’s shared Life Pool, and the game-specific health reference says it costs one Life. The same community reply describes interacting with a fallen character’s tombstone or the nearest town when Hearts remain.
Revive a character during combat
- Choose a living party member. A dead character cannot take the action.
- Open that character’s available actions and select the revive option. A Steam community reply reports that reviving an ally uses a Primary Action, so account for that action when planning the turn. The discussion is a player report, not an official manual confirmation. Steam discussion: Newbie Questions
Revive a character on the overworld
The For The King Wiki’s Health reference describes the shared Life Pool as the resource that permits revival and says the cost is one Life. A Steam community reply reports two ways to initiate an overworld revival when Hearts remain:
- Interact with the fallen character’s tombstone.
- Go to the nearest town and use the revival interaction there.
The community reply does not establish that every town always provides this option. Check the interaction shown in your current game rather than assuming a specific service will be available.
What if the party has no Hearts?
The Steam discussion’s answer says that with zero Hearts, the player must rely on the Life Pool or restart; it does not describe a reliable town-based alternative. The wiki reference establishes that revival costs one Life, but the sources do not provide a complete official account of all zero-life situations. Check the available in-game options before deciding to restart.

Why the option may not appear
- Check whether you are in combat or on the overworld. The reported route depends on the situation: use a living character’s action in combat, or check the tombstone or town interaction on the overworld.
- Check the shared Life Pool and remaining Hearts. The sources describe Lives as the revival resource and report tombstone or town routes when Hearts remain.
- Confirm the current on-screen interaction. The available sources do not verify whether revival rules change by chapter, mode, platform, or patch.
