When did Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 launch?
Epic announced that Chapter 6 Season 4 would start on August 7, and contemporaneous launch-day coverage reported that it went live that day. TechRadar reported these regional start times:
- East Coast US: 7:45 a.m. ET
- West Coast US: 4:45 a.m. PT
- UK: 12:45 p.m. BST
- Central Europe: 1:45 p.m. CEST
- Sydney: 9:45 p.m. AEST
- Tokyo: 8:45 p.m. JST
These are historical launch times, not a guide to current Fortnite service or event schedules. Epic said the season ended November 1, 2025, Eastern Time, and listed that date as the end of the Battle Pass progression window.
What was Shock ‘N Awesome about?
The season’s story centered on an insect invasion. Epic described the island as overrun with nests and egg sacs and introduced the O.X.R. as its anti-bug military defense force. Players were asked to fight the swarm as the infestation spread across the island.

Which locations were added to the map?
TechRadar’s launch map summary listed four new points of interest: The Hive, Rangers Ruin, OXR HQ and Swarmy Stash. Epic’s announcement called the second location Ranger’s Ruin and described it as a former O.X.R. weapons lab lost to the infestation. Epic presented The Hive as a high-risk location with substantial insect activity.
What weapons came with the season?
Epic’s launch announcement named these additions:
- Leadspitter 3000 minigun
- Sweeper Shotgun
- O.X.R. Rifle
- Wrecker Revolver
- Swarmstrike laser-guided rocket launcher
Epic also said the Shock n’ Slow Shockwave Launcher and Swarmstrike would be disabled in tournaments, while reserving the right to monitor and change tournament availability.

What was in the Battle Pass and collaborations?
TechRadar’s launch-day coverage reported Halo- and Power Rangers-themed content alongside bug-themed outfits in the Shock ‘N Awesome Battle Pass and season promotion. Those unlocks were tied to a season that has ended; the original Battle Pass progression window closed November 1, 2025, Eastern Time.
What changed for PC performance mode?
Epic said the v37.00 update would add a DirectX 12-based Performance Mode on PC. The existing DirectX 11-based mode would remain available but be marked Legacy/Deprecated. This describes the launch update, not a current recommendation about which graphics mode to use.
