Epic’s rules require you to keep a Victory Crown through the match you win; a regular Victory Royale, a win in Blitz Royale, or a win after being eliminated does not qualify. If the match did qualify, compare the counter in the lobby with its display in a match—one June 2026 player report described a lobby-only discrepancy, but Epic has not confirmed that as a current widespread bug.
What counts as a Crowned Victory Royale?
Epic’s Crowning Achievement guidance describes a two-win sequence: win a match to get a Victory Crown, then win the next match while still holding it. The second win is the Crowned Victory Royale tracked by the emote. Winning two matches in a row is not sufficient if you did not retain the crown through the second match.
Elimination breaks the sequence
Epic says elimination removes your crown. If you are revived after being eliminated, that does not restore eligibility for the Crowned Victory Royale—even if you pick up another crown before the match ends. The relevant check is whether you kept the crown through the win, not whether you had one again at the end.
Blitz Royale is excluded
Epic’s Japanese-language Blitz Royale support article says that mode does not support Crowned Victory Royales. Do not use a Blitz Royale win to judge whether the counter is working.

Why the counter may still show zero
There are two different possibilities: the win did not meet the eligibility rules, or the win qualified but the display is not reflecting it. A June 2026 Reddit discussion includes a player report that the lobby showed zero while the in-game counter appeared correct. The poster later said it was showing. This is an anecdotal troubleshooting clue, not an Epic-confirmed diagnosis, a guaranteed workaround, or evidence that the issue affects many players.
Epic’s Chapter 3 Season 2 overview documented a seasonal reset of the counter. That is historical information and does not establish whether counters reset each season now.

How to troubleshoot a missing Crowned Victory count
- Check the mode. If the win was in Blitz Royale, it is not eligible for a Crowned Victory Royale under Epic’s stated rules.
- Check the crown sequence. Confirm you had a Victory Crown when you won. Epic’s documented route is to win once to obtain a crown and win the next match while retaining it.
- Check for an elimination. If you were eliminated during the crown-holding match, a revive or replacement crown does not make that match eligible.
- Compare the displays. If the match met the rules but the lobby says zero, check the emote’s count in a match too. The reported lobby-versus-in-game discrepancy may help distinguish a display issue from an eligibility issue, but it is not a confirmed fix.
- Contact Epic Player Support if it persists. Provide the platform, mode, approximate match time, and what the lobby and in-match displays show. A 2025 Epic Developer Community thread about a PS5 player report was redirected to Fortnite Player Support; the moderator clarified that those forums are for Fortnite creators and UEFN developers, not gameplay support.
Is this a confirmed Fortnite-wide bug?
Players have reported missing awards or counters, including the June 2026 lobby-display report and a May 2025 report of a missing emote after a player said they had won consecutive matches with a crown. Those reports establish that players have described problems, not how common they are or what caused them. The available evidence does not establish a current platform-wide bug, and there is no cited Epic acknowledgment or fix notice for the lobby-display report. Check eligibility first; if the rules were met, report the remaining discrepancy to Epic.
