Fortnite’s official Ranked ladder runs from Bronze I to Unreal, with three divisions each from Bronze through Diamond and single Elite, Champion, and Unreal tiers in Epic’s listed ladder. Ranked progress is tracked separately for Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Reload. Match placement and eliminations affect progress, but Epic does not publish an exact points formula.
What are all the Fortnite ranks?
Epic’s Ranked support page lists the ranks in this order, from lowest to highest:
- Bronze I
- Bronze II
- Bronze III
- Silver I
- Silver II
- Silver III
- Gold I
- Gold II
- Gold III
- Platinum I
- Platinum II
- Platinum III
- Diamond I
- Diamond II
- Diamond III
- Elite
- Champion
- Unreal
Epic’s update 40.20 notice says new Elite and Champion tiers were added. Because Ranked labels can change with updates, use the live Ranked menu in Fortnite as the final reference if it differs from this list. Epic’s Ranked support page and its update 40.20 notice describe the ladder and tier changes.
How does Fortnite Ranked progression work?
Epic says placement and eliminations affect rank progress. The percentage displayed in Ranked is progress toward the next tier, and higher placements and more eliminations increase it. Epic has not published exact numerical thresholds or a complete formula, so there is no official fixed number of points for a kill, placement, survival time, or match length. Epic’s explanation of Ranked and its progress guide describe the factors without disclosing weights.

Epic’s current support instructions list the quest as the prerequisite for accessing Ranked. See Epic’s Ranked access instructions.
Are Fortnite ranks shared between modes?
No. Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Reload have separate Ranked progression. Your rank in one does not change your rank in another. The modes may also use different reset schedules, so do not assume that a rule or reset date for one applies to all three. Epic lists the Ranked modes and its reset guidance explains the schedule distinction.

What was different about Reload?
In a September 24, 2024 article, Epic described Ranked Reload as using the highest-ranked teammate to determine team matchmaking rank, while each player kept an individual rank. It said individual progress reflected team performance and the player’s own rank. The article also described extra progress for eliminating a full enemy team and reduced progress for repeatedly eliminating the same player or players by the same team after the second elimination. These are dated details, not a guarantee of current Reload rules; check the live mode description before relying on them. Read Epic’s Ranked Reload article.
When does Fortnite Ranked reset?
Epic says Battle Royale and Zero Build ranks reset when a season ends. Other modes can follow different schedules, and reset dates can vary; consult current mode-specific notices or the Ranked menu rather than assuming all modes reset together. Epic’s reset guidance directs players to mode social accounts for dates.

Do ranks unlock tournaments or rewards?
Epic says high ranks can unlock eligibility for Epic-hosted competitions, including FNCS, and that certain rank milestones earn seasonal cosmetic rewards. This does not mean every rank qualifies for every event or guarantees a particular reward. Check the current tournament details and Competitive Rules Library for the event’s actual requirements.

Epic has issued notices about Ranked display and standing changes, including a Battle Royale and Zero Build visual mismatch that was resolved after players completed another Ranked match to update Unreal leaderboard placement. Its notice said Reload investigations were still ongoing at that time. That status can change; for a current discrepancy, check Epic’s latest Fortnite support notices and in-game display rather than treating an older incident report as current.
