The archived rules explain how the Duos tournament worked, what players needed to qualify, and the regional placement thresholds. For tournaments running now, check Fortnite’s in-game Competitive tab and the current event rules.

How did the tournament work?
Duos Battle Royale
Epic’s rules stated: “Symbiote Cup will use ‘Duos’ and ‘Battle Royale’ game mode settings.” Players competed as a team of two, and both teammates had to be present and partied together for each match.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThree-hour window and match limit
Each team could play up to ten matches during an approximately three-hour event window. A match counted only if it began before that region’s window closed. Epic said the definitive schedule and times would appear in-game, so the rules document alone does not supply a precise local start time for every player.

How did scoring work?
The scoring combined placement points with one point for each elimination. A Victory Royale earned 65 points; second place earned 56; third earned 52. Placement points continued through 25th place, which was worth two points.
| Placement | Points |
|---|---|
| 1st | 65 |
| 2nd | 56 |
| 3rd | 52 |
| 25th | 2 |
| Each elimination | 1 |
When teams tied, Epic’s rules broke ties in this order: total points, number of Victory Royales, average eliminations, average placement, then seconds survived across all matches.

What were the eligibility requirements?
These are the Symbiote Cup’s 2024 requirements, not a checklist for every Fortnite tournament. Players had to:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Be at least 13 years old, or meet the higher minimum age required in their country.
- Enable two-factor authentication on their Epic account.
- Use an Epic account in good standing at level 50 or higher.
- Meet the event’s additional regional, device, team, and account restrictions. Cabined Accounts were prohibited.
The rules also barred residents of Russia and Turkey from receiving event prizes. Eligibility to compete and eligibility to receive a prize were subject to the event rules; placement alone did not guarantee every player could claim a reward.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
How could players earn the She-Venom skin?
She-Venom was a digital in-game outfit awarded for reaching the specified team placement in the 2024 cup; it was not a physical item to purchase. Epic set different cutoffs by region:
| Region | She-Venom placement cutoff |
|---|---|
| Oceania | Top 200 teams |
| Asia | Top 200 teams |
| Middle East | Top 200 teams |
| Brazil | Top 200 teams |
| Europe | Top 1,200 teams |
| North America | Top 1,000 teams |
Epic also listed Agony and other symbiote-themed cosmetics for the same placement bands. Prize restrictions in the official rules still applied.

How to check eligibility for a current Fortnite tournament
The Symbiote Cup is over, but Epic’s current in-game and online listings are the right place to check active events. Epic Support says a lock icon on a tournament in the Competitive tab means either that the event has not started or that the account is ineligible. Open the event details to see which requirements are missing. Epic Support: participating in a Fortnite tournament.
- Open Fortnite’s in-game Competitive tab and find the event you want to enter.
- Check its status and event details. If it is locked, review the listed requirements rather than assuming the event is unavailable to everyone.
- Check the Competitive calendar for the schedule and use the in-game Compete tab to see the start time shown for your location.
- Read the current event rules before entering. Confirm the mode and team size, region and session time, account or rank requirements, match limit, scoring, and reward cutoff; these can differ between events.
Epic’s competitive guidance points players to its calendar and rules library for current schedules and requirements. Epic Games: Fortnite Competitive.
