The confirmed launch details were cosmetic; the teaser report’s suggestions of map or gameplay changes were not confirmed.
What Fortnite’s Fallout teaser said
In a report published May 20, 2024, VideoGamer described an image Epic had shared on X and placed in Fortnite’s in-game news feed. The report quoted its caption: “Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked Courtesy of the Brotherhood of Steel. Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked comes to Battle Royale on May 24.” VideoGamer interpreted the image as showing power armor. VideoGamer’s May 20, 2024 report

That was a pre-launch tease, not a full announcement of what the crossover would contain. VideoGamer floated the possibility of a new location, boss, or Mythic weapon or ability, while explicitly noting those gameplay details had not been confirmed.
