The Fortnite x Star Wars crossover launched on May 3, 2024, with update v29.40. It brought Star Wars content to LEGO Fortnite, Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. The headline names Chewbacca, Lando, and Luke, but their routes differed: Chewbacca was a LEGO Pass premium reward, while Lando Calrissian and Dagobah Luke were announced as Battle Royale Shop outfits.
When did the Fortnite Star Wars crossover start?
Epic announced the crossover on May 1, 2024, and said the content would arrive May 3 with v29.40. Its announcement listed LEGO Fortnite, Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing as participating experiences. Epic’s separate LEGO Fortnite announcement put it this way: “LEGO® Fortnite | Star Wars begins May 3 with the v29.40 update!”

How did you get Chewbacca in LEGO Fortnite?
Chewbacca was the Outfit reward for upgrading to the Premium Reward Track in the LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure. Epic said the Outfit had both a LEGO Style and a Fortnite Style. This was a pass reward, distinct from the Battle Royale outfits announced for the Item Shop.

Which Fortnite Star Wars skins featured Lando and Luke?
Epic announced three Battle Royale Shop outfits starting May 3, 2024: Dagobah Luke, Lando Calrissian, and AWR Trooper. The announcement records their planned availability at crossover launch, not a current Shop rotation. It does not confirm whether any of these outfits are available in the Shop today.

What else came with the crossover?
LEGO Fortnite’s Rebel Adventure pass included Star Wars-inspired builds and decor alongside its character reward. LEGO’s official LEGO Fortnite – Star Wars page covers the crossover’s LEGO Star Wars builds and decor and also provides a context for fans interested in physical LEGO Star Wars building sets. Those sets are fan merchandise, not equipment required to play Fortnite.

Epic said the Star Wars island would remain after v29.40, unlike the LEGO Pass, which had a stated end date for progression. That announcement establishes Epic’s plan at launch; it does not independently confirm the island’s status in October 2026.
