If you want another game where taking pictures is part of the adventure, New Pokémon Snap is the closest match supported by the games’ official descriptions: you photograph wildlife and build a Photodex. For a quieter journey focused on documenting a place, try Season: A Letter to the Future. Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is another photography-led candidate, though the available official description gives fewer details about how its camera works.
What makes a game feel like TOEM?
TOEM combines four things: a camera that helps solve problems, friendly character requests, relaxed exploration, and a mellow atmosphere. Nintendo describes it as a hand-drawn photo adventure in which players chat with quirky characters, help them by snapping pictures, and travel through a relaxing landscape. Its product description sums up the premise as an expedition to use “your photographic eye to uncover the mysteries of the magical TOEM.” Nintendo’s TOEM product page
The best next game depends on which part you want more of. If it is the act of finding subjects and taking pictures, start with New Pokémon Snap. If you want to record a world as you travel through it, consider Season. If you are open to another wildlife adventure, Alba is also worth investigating.
Best games to play after TOEM
| Game | Closest connection to TOEM | Best fit if you want… |
|---|---|---|
| New Pokémon Snap | Photography is a central activity: take pictures of wild Pokémon and build a Photodex. | To seek out subjects, frame shots, and grow a photo collection. |
| Season: A Letter to the Future | Photography and recording are part of documenting a world during a bicycle road trip. | A reflective journey and a strong sense of place. |
| Alba: A Wildlife Adventure | Nintendo includes it in a roundup of games where photography is important to gameplay. | To explore another photography-related adventure, while checking the game’s details for your platform. |
New Pokémon Snap: the closest match for taking pictures
New Pokémon Snap is the strongest pick if the camera itself is what you want to play with. The official site describes an ecological survey across islands: you photograph Pokémon in the wild and build a Photodex from selected pictures. That makes looking for subjects, composing shots, and collecting images central to the experience.
