TOEM is a single-player adventure where taking photos helps solve puzzles and assist the characters you meet. For a smoother start, explore patiently, talk to people, and treat the camera’s view as part of each puzzle—not just a way to collect pictures.
How TOEM’s camera and exploration fit together
The camera is central to TOEM’s puzzle-solving: official descriptions say that photos help solve puzzles and characters’ problems. The game also sends you through distinct, Scandinavian-inspired environments, with bus travel between areas. That makes observation as important as progress. Rather than rushing straight toward the next destination, take time to look around and notice what is happening in each scene.

How to handle photo requests
Start by listening
Talk to the characters you encounter and pay attention to what they ask for. The game’s premise connects characters’ problems with photography, so their requests provide clues about what kind of scene or subject may help.

Reconsider the scene if a photo does not count
If your first attempt does not satisfy a request, revisit what the character described and look around the nearby area again. Think about what needs to be visible in the frame and whether the photo shows the relevant subject or situation. This is a useful puzzle-solving habit, not a guarantee that every request follows the same rule.
Exact solutions for every photo request are beyond the scope of a beginner overview. If you want a direct answer to a particular objective, the developer’s FAQ points players who are stuck or missing an item toward an online guide: Something We Made’s FAQ.

How to explore without missing useful details
- Look around before moving on. Scan the area and notice characters, objects, and situations that could connect to a request.
- Use conversations to focus your search. What someone says can give you a reason to inspect part of the scene more closely.
- Revisit an area when a request remains unresolved. A second look can help you spot a subject or framing detail you overlooked.
- Take your time. The developer describes the game as a relaxed expedition that invites players to pause and observe, so a patient approach fits its design.
Where can you play TOEM?
Something We Made’s FAQ lists TOEM on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. These are the platform families and storefronts named by the developer; check the relevant live store page for availability in your region.
Nintendo’s US listing describes a digital Nintendo Switch edition and says the game’s behavior is supported on Nintendo Switch 2. That is specific to the US listing; check Nintendo’s store page for your region. Choose based on the platform you own and whether you prefer handheld or larger-screen play. The available official information does not establish platform-specific performance or complete feature parity.

Its listed Steam Deck guidance describes a control issue and says some custom Steam Deck features, including gyro, are not supported; technical notes can change over time.
